I have heard so many different stories from people. I have also heard that you can buy bottled water once past security to use in your bottles as long as the water is purified so less fluoride but I have no idea what brands these are.

    Anyone know?

I traveled overseas 5 times with DS before he was 2 and would always take a combination of cartons and powder. In Australia you can get bottled water once past security but in many Asian countries (where we had to transit) you can't get anything once past security at your gate and all water had to be thrown out. This is where cartons came in handy because it meant I had something as soon as I got on the plane. Once on the plane I would ask the flight attendants to fill a few bottle with boiling water which I would be cooled down by the time I needed them during the flight.
I also found that I needed twice as much as I normally would as plane flight is dehydrating and DS needed to drink less but more often.
