    Hey Bec

Flat lemonade works wonders (as per above advice) ... It's fantastic for rehydrating . Just stir it to flatten it. My mum always tells me to steer clear of dairy other than their daily milk intake .. Until the vomits stop. Cooled chamomile tea can help to hydrate and settle them, and it tastes yummy too. Cruskits with Vegemite are a good post gastro snack.
Lucozade is good too- they sell it in pharmacies and supermarkets. hope your baby girl is better soon hugs

Re the flat lemonade, our GP has always suggested watering flat lemonade down (4 cups water, one cup of lemonade) for gastro bugs - something about too much sugar possibly contributing to even more fluid loss I think, I can't really recall though as it's not a remedy I use.

    Hello,

It's crappy when our babes are sick.

Just recently we had a friend whose 18 month old was sick. It started out as Gastro and the vomiting would not go away. This went on for about 3 weeks. They had 2 stints in a Children's Hospital and went to about 10 different GP's getting no answers and having all these tests performed with everything coming back fine. They asked us what Dr we took our kids to try another different Dr. Anyway, our Dr (who only sees children) went through everything with them and said, that sometimes after a bout of Gastro children can develop Lactose Intolerance. They were to have no dairy for a week and then gradually introduce. This worked for them and they have not looked back.

Maybe try this and see how you go! Hope your little one is on the mend soon!

    Is breastmilk considered dairy?

Actually might ask this in a separate thread.
