Oh Swizzlestick I could have written that myself.

    BIG

DS wont feel like you do as long as you teach him that it isn't his problem it is his grandmothers. I am not going to let my Mum make my children feel bad for things that she is or isn't doing.

If you ever need to vent send me a PM.

Oh sweetheart that is so sad, but you know what, at the end of the day SHE is the one that is missing out, You and everyone else knows how wonderful your DS really is, and if she can't see it, it really is her loss

I know it doesn't make it any easier though, sometimes its the people we love that hurt us the most

Sending you lots if hugs Hun, our situations are similar however it's my inlaws that don't take the time to see DS, they turned up on his first birthday to drop off their kids to stay with us because they decided to go away, MIL goes oh that's right what day is his birthday! I said today!!
One of the last comments before they left was, "I don't care what you think he looks like his Dad but he has your F***ing ugly shaped head!" it was all tongue in cheek but most the time you can tell its really not meant to be a joke with her tone and expressions.

It's sad to say but from what your saying you DS will care more for your inlaws instead of your mum unless she takes the time to get to know him, on the other hand do you want him to get the same criticisms you did growing up? Or would you prefer to shield him so to speak from her.

I'm happy we have limited contact.

I seen this website posted on another thread (mightve been you bell & bug?) and it made me feel a lot better. Worth a read.
And op it sounds like a hard situation. I have no advice as my "mother" is vile and I just cut her out.
