Just curious about other people's thoughts...
DS is 3 1/2 turning 4 in June and goes to school next year. With the new Government rules he will be the youngest in his class and is currently the youngest in his room at childcare where he attends 2 days a week.
Anyway... the new preprep teacher has bought in a system where they have sticker charts for 'when the children get caught doing something good'. In the first 3 weeks my DS got 3 stickers TOTAL when most of the other kids got 3 per day. So I'm feeling a little like the parent of the resident naughty kid. At least 1/3 of the kids are special needs plus there's an 18 month age range in the class. I get the impression from the teacher she's attempting to set one standard for all the kids but I think she's somewhat distracted settling in with so many kids needing extra help (things like 10+ kids needing nappies at sleeptime keeping in mind these kids are about to start school).
Would it be wrong to ask to discuss my child's behaviour? Today I got the impression she just thinks I'm doing a bad job at home and its bad luck he doesn't get the stickers when at kindy.
