Iwould not be ashamed of anything I have done, unless I harmed someone else.

I was kidding above, but have used pot before.

I smoked pot for two years before DD. I started it when I was unhappy with how life was going and used it to stay numb, while I'm not going to preach it to people, it helped me get off some antidepressants that made me so ill and regulated my eating disorders to where i actually ate food again regularly not just bingeing and I lost 25kg, finally allowing me to fall with DD. I quit it the moment I got my positive and havent gone back but I personally, don't look at the drug negatively - I mean I don't look back at MY time using it negatively. I grew up with severely alcoholic parents and id say that's far worse! (I don't drink at all)

Yep, it was a lot of fun at the time but got old pretty quickly. Mainly between 18 - 21 and mainly only the speedier sorts of drugs. I didn't like pot much and was never tempted to try heroin or morphine.

Yeh I have tried a fair few drugs in my earlier days, but am now very anti drugs.

What was the decision process like in deciding to try it? Umm it was just normal in my circle - we drank young, I knew lots of ppl who smoked weed (i didn't) and then it just kind of progresed to other stuff. It was always about socialising, hang out with mates, having a good night out, unwinding after work etc. It was fun pretty much.

Did the potential for harmful effects enter into the equation? Not at the time no, I thought I was 'smart' about how I took drugs which was partially true but partially stupid.

Was peer pressure a factor? I don't think so, it was normal and part of my social group though. When I stopt it did mean losing alot of friends, but they are friends I had through the scene anyway so it wasn't like I did it in the beginning because they were IYKWIM. Where I worked there was probably alot of pressure to take drugs (performance and social wise). If you didn't you were considered diferrent and if you did you were considered 'normal'. Plus to get through the hrs you probably needed to, so your performance would prob be viewed as less if you weren't using.

Do you regret the decision? Not overly, it was part of growing up I think. I regret that I gave strong srgs to my now DH when he first starting hanging with us and he got really sick. At the time I didn't think much of it, but looking back it was crazy. And I regret that things got very messy and I caused my dad alot of stress and grief.

The turning point for me was it stopt being fun. I was paranoid ALL THE TIME. My boyfriend was even more crazy then me. I got glandular fever and was so run down. I guess it stopt being social and started impacting negatively on my whole life. I saw a guy OD right in front of me, kicking me while he convulsed and throwing up blood and fluid all over me, my mates and the floor. Then ten minutes late 3 guys fly through a glass staircase and down 3 flights of stairs at a club. A few important events where ruined cos we all so messed up we couldn't function and then I had a bit of a physcotic eposide after another rave. I think I probably partied a little bit after that, but it had lost its magic and I couldn't do it anymore.

HTH - any specific question ask away.

have done E a handful of times - My best friend wanted to try it and she was asking me for months and months to do it with her. I finally caved, i think it may have been a little bit of peer pressure, but i was also curious. I was 18 at the time. After the first time i did do it again a few times over probably 3-4 months. One of those times i had a bad reaction (nothing serious, just had a bad trip) and i am pretty sure that was the last time.
I have done Pot. Never got addicted to it - always socially, but had it quite regularly (at least once a week usually 2-3 times) for about 6-12 months 17-18yrs old. But also with that i held off for ages before this happened. I had tried it once when i was 16 but drank alcohol at the same time and was horrendously sick so it put me off.
I have had a miniscule amount of Speed once.. it wasn't really enough to have much of an effect but it did keep me awake for quite a while, and i was drinking at the same time, but didn't really get the drunk feeling (was drinking all night).

No i don't regret any of it.. Its just another experience that i have under my belt! If something had of gone wrong though i might think differently!

I have smoked pot in the past, many years ago... between the ages about 14-16.

What was the decision process like in deciding to try it?

Everyone else is doing it, I wanted to know what all the fuss was.

Did the potential for harmful effects enter into the equation?

Yes, but I felt that pot was probably the "safest" of all drugs so I wasn't concerned at the time. Now I know the facts and the links to mental illness, from which I suffer (anxiety mainly) so would never use it again.
    Was peer pressure a factor?

Yes at times I just did it because the group I hung out with did it. But the first time I tried it was all my decision, I really wanted to try it. I was offered "harder" drugs as well (lines of speed, heroin, pills etc) but thankfully was always too chicken to try them.

    Do you regret the decision?

Not really; I wanted to try it and I did. I actually hated the feeling it gave me but I wanted to experience it and I did. I don't ever think about it anymore.

Yes. Heroin, Pot, Hash, LSD, speed, meth, Ecstasy, some other pills (can't remember what), ...oh and those bulb things. And I've injected prescription drugs too

What was the decision process like in deciding to try it?

There wasn't much of a process.

Did the potential for harmful effects enter into the equation?

I was always scared but the rewards seemed greater. Was better to be high and scared than straight and anxious/sad/insecure.

    Was peer pressure a factor?

All my friends did it but there was no pressure

    Do you regret the decision?

    YES
