I do??? Im sorry?? What have I said that seems to knwo alot? She buys smokes for her kids and they have a smoking privalige... She and her partner smokes. They all sit around outside smoking together...All that I found out in 3 hours. Its not like I was talking about their day to day life. Just what they told me and what I saw.

I guess you just have to be careful what you tell a stranger in 3 hours. If you're going to call docs and bag them out on a public forum you'd want to be sure and not just base it on gossip that's all.

I started smoking at 15, mum my didn't know about it untill she worked out she was not smoking that much and her smokes were going missing, she asked me i came clean and yes after that she did start buying smokes for me she knew i was going to find a way to smoke if i wanted to having said that she did try and explain and stop me from doing it.

If one of my boys was to tell me they smoked i would prob do the same as my mum did for me.

I think going to DOCS is a bit over the top TBH what she is doing my be immoral but it is not really illega if you go by the letter of the law, it is only illega it sell to u18s.

If you are unsure if you are going to keep the friendship maybe just voice your thought to her and she what she has to say for her self

DOCS won't do anything about this Just throwin' that out there right now.

Instead of wasting your time (and especially DOCS time, come on...) - why not try and be a helpful friend to this woman by, oh I don't know, being honest with her I'd start by showing her this thread as seeing how repulsed people are may just motivate her to think about what she's doing. I'd also print out a bunch of easy to read info from the net about how smoking effects minors and then I'd offer to support her with any positive changes she wants to make.

I'm a smoker, I started when I was 12. By the time I was 16 my parents had given up trying to get me to stop. There's no way they'd let my friends smoke unless they knew the parents OK'd it and there's no way they'd ever use ciggies as rewards. In fact the above advice I've given is probably the exact same advice my own mum would give.

Just be honest with your friend about how wrong this is. If you're re-considering even being her friend then why not let the friendship go out with a bang by actually trying to help her?!

Im not calling DOCs but I bloody well should. Stupid parents giving their own child smokes is just wrong. There is a reason for all the health warnings. How stupid do you have to be to do such a thing to your own kids?

When I changed schools last, I was only 13. Everyone smoked, and I was the only virgin in my circle of friends ( ).
I'm only 18 now, so that wasn't that long ago...that's just what teenagers are like these days. Kids aged 13 smoke all the time. I don't condone it, and I think it's terrible...but it's just my generation.
I think, taking this into account, it seems a bit much to report it. And even if you did, I don't think anyone would care, to be honest
It's a tragedy, but it's just the norm now.
I should add: all of these kids were proud to boast that their parents bought them cigarettes/alcohol, or they just bought them themselves *shrug*

Seriously? What woudl be the point. She isnt a younge lady. Im sure she knows that smoking is bad. Its not my place to tell her how to raise her children, but it doesnt mean I cant be disgusted by it.

I'm speechless that people don't think there is something seriously messed up about bribing an impressionable 13yo with cigarettes. Cigarettes that will eventually kill them.
