90% of the mining jobs in my area go to inexperienced people.
Put resumes in with the mining agencies, and hound them.
DF got his job by signing up with the Mining employment agencies and constantly chasing them up, he had no experience.

Where abouts do you live??? contact the recruitment companies in your area and let them know that you have just gained HR licence and that you are looking for work in the mines etc. They should help you out.
KCGM in Kalgoorlie normally take people on who have just gained HR maybe have a look on their website if you are in WA

I would get her to apply anyway, you never know, they may have another job up their sleeve or may know of people who may have a job for her.
She could even just apply to companies that aren't currently advertising.
Or perhaps ask around friends and friends of friends, people may know of something coming up, or could pull a few strings.

I just want to add you don't need to have a HR license to be a Plant Operator.

Just try anyway. You would be surprised, I got a job as a stevedore on the brisbane wharf driving huge machines with little experience, partly because they were looking to redress the m/f imbalance in the workplace...

    Persistence pays off!!

    All the best

My DH spent a few years trying to get into the mines. He registered with agencies and harrassed them. He also had relatives that work in the mines who couldn't get him a job or maybe they didn't try hard enough. We ended up moving interstate for DH to work in a different area. Anyway he ended up getting a call 5 months after we moved for a job in the mines. Needless to say we were not happy after the years of chasing them. If your DP is really keen then get him to register and harrass them. It's definetly a waiting game when it comes to the mines, that has been our experience. Good luck.

Yeah it can be hard to get any truck driving jobs. Best bet for getting work is she can apply to recruiters n your area for casual work. I did this and got maybe 3 jobs. Then I had to admit my back wan't good enough to sit in those independently suspended seats all day long. Also most look for the experience driving a HR vehicle not a truck. Buses are Awesome for HR experience. She just needs to apply. Already having a HR licence puts her one step above most applicants.

My mother works in Heavy towing and I Did get my MR licence so learnt bit that way. Main thing I found was finding someone who didn't have the uber comfy seats that annoyed my back. Also a lot of Interstate/Mining/bus companies want you to do Sleep apnea testing if you are over 100KG regardless of height.
