Default We can't agree on a name...

my partner likes names I personally think are dreadful. I like names I'm sure he thinks the same of... what are some ideas to picking a name together? I asked him to write a list of names before he went to jail, but the names are ones I would NEVER agree to.... Shall we discuss it next time I visit? I won't be finding out it's gender, so it's not like we can focus only on one genders name....
    Please help!

Are you writing a list of names to show him too? Could you let him pick the middle name or are all the names he likes really that awful?

My DP told me last night he likes the name Dwight (after Dwight Yoakam the country singer).... No offense to anyone that likes the name but I was like no way...!

lol, you sound like me lol. One of the names was Estelle. I hear that, I think of Joey Tribbiani (from friends)'s acting agent. the old lady with the croaky smokers voice lol. the only one i would ever consider if I had to was "Ryle" (boys name). I don't want a common name, nor do I want a "too out there" name. All my picks have been highlighted in a baby name book, which I'm not sure if he went through

Men are men, may have missed some of your names even if he did look through the book. My hubby and I both made our own lists as neither of us could agree. When we compared lists there was actually something to work with. We've since lost the baby so haven't worked out names. But it really worked and if it looks like you're willing to consider some of his names he might come around to yours also

Could you tweak some of his names? Like instead of Estelle, have Stella?

I didnt want many names that my DP wanted if we were having a girl so i just kept throwing names at him until he was like 'oh yeah i like that'. I did get accused of not liking ANY names he liked though

Our little Miss to be born in less than two weeks will be called Estelle and one of the things that we both like about the name is that she will have options to shorten it if she wants.

I love the name Stella, DH is not so keen and just thinks the movie line "St-e-l-l-a!", but he likes Elle or Ella which I am not that keen on as they feel a bit too popular.

BTW Estelle is old fashioned and that is what I love about it. Also I expect that she will be the only Estelle in her class.

Ok, new problem lol. DP said i can pick the first name n he'l pick the middle name, which is great... BUT now i have my mother complaining about my names. i love darius for a boy, but she replied with "thats the rapist from SVU, im not having a grandkid with a rapist name" OMG mum, its a character for crying out loud!!!!
she agrees to malakai (one of the other boy names i like), but i want more than one choice. was thinking about maybe naming him (if hes a he) after my dad, who is named gavin, but worried about mums thoughts of her ex husband, but she doesnt mind that one either.... its just girls im now stuck on

I like Darius also. And sorry mum, but it doesn't scream rapist to me!! The footy player Darius Boyd springs to mind though :-)
