Default Birthing publicly at Heidelberg Mercy?

    Hi Ladies

Im due on the first of July with our first bubba and i'm starting to get a little bit scared about actually giving birth, which is rediculous because we can't wait to have her earth side

I was just wondering if anyone has birthed at Heidelberg Mercy as a public patient? how did you find your birthing experience?

I haven't been on a tour there yet and our antenatal classes aren't until May so i'm really hoping that hearing some of your stories will calm me down a little

I had dd there in june 2010 and am due to have dd2 there in may. I have nothing to compare them to, but I had an ok experience. Being public, and living 5 mins away on Ivanhoe, I don't have a choice about going back there anyway.

1st baby due in 10 days - and I have had an exceptional experience with the MErcy so far.

My step sister and close friends have had their babies there and have had a great experience also.

My goddaughter was born there at 36 weeks and was in the nicu for over a week and, having experienced first hand how she was looked after and treated - I wouldn't even blink an eye in recommending people to go there.

    Good luck!
