So, tell us again FirsTimeMummy -- what are your reasons for being straight?

Sorry - that was the opening theme to this thread..and I missed your response.

There is a huge difference in saying 'I dont agree with homosexuality' and 'I dont believe it exists'. I actually find the latter so much more insulting.

I did state my answer but that's ok, I'll say it again.
I am straight because I have absolutely no attraction to women in the least. I can look at a woman and say "Wow she has a great body or a pretty face" but I can't look at her and feel attraction as I do to a man. I never have and I'm fairly certain I never will. I had a girl kiss me in high school and it felt completely wrong to me hence why I wouldn't go there.

Exactly the same thing here, I am not saying anyone is wrong for what they believe. I am merely saying that it is not what I believe.
No, you didn't "not believe it", you knew it wasn't true. The colour of the sky is not a matter of opinion but you indulged his mistake. And that's all anyone else is doing if they allow you to continue riding this ridiculous semantic whirlpool of "opinion", "belief" and "fact".

To deny someone their sexuality is to deny part of what makes them them. You say you don't discriminate; discrimination goes beyond giving someone a job or sharing public amenities with them. It's viewing them as completely equal to you, and if you don't believe someone is as capable as you are of determining their own sexuality, then you do not view them as equal to you.

You're telling people that their own sexuality doesn't exist!
Wow I can't get why everyone's getting so worked up. Yes, 5itb said what she said but let me correct you and say that I didn't argue. I merely said I found that statement ludicrous and moved on. I didn't try and defend it or anything along those lines. I expressed that I felt it was ludicrouse and then I moved on. Just like everyone had the choice to say that what I believed was ludicrous to them and then moved on. At what point did I say that bisexuality doesn't exist? Where did I say that exactly? What I recall saying was that bisexuality doesn't exist to ME. I'm allowed to think that. But if someone comes to me and says they believe in bisexuality then i would say "Ok cool" and move on.

As for what someone said about bisexuality being REAL and God not being tangible I don't agree with that but hey, they are entitled to their opinion. Personally, I can "feel" God. I can "see" Him and I can certainly "hear" Him but if someone else can't then I get it that they wouldn't believe. Just as I can't "feel" bisexuality so for me personally it isn't real. I can see why it would be real for someone else though.

I never decided I was straight, in fact I think I was honest with myself from about 14 years old when I realized there just may be something there for girls when I noticed a girl on the bus to soccer giving me that 'look' and it made me feel all tingly in my tummy. Fast forward a few weeks and I spoke to her on a chat room and when we realized who each other was, well the rest is history
My parents chose to believe that I was going through a phase though ah I really am starting to see the box they have tried to stuff me into. Sorry to disappoint you mum and dad

ETA: I'm not lesbian, I'm bi, just in case I confused anyone there though, if DF and I ever ended, I can't see me with another man.

Im not even sure what else to say tbh.
    Ignorance breeds ignorance i guess.
Ready properly Plan A. I said I didn't believe in bisexuality not that it doesn't exist. Of course it exists! Sheesh seriously!! But it exists and is interpreted in different ways. I interpret it as the reasons I've already stated and you interpret it in a different way. Again, no problem.

Don't go throwing names around like ignorance. I am certainly not ignorant. In fact I'm very far from it so please don't personalyl insult me. I am not personally insulting you in any shape way or form. If you felt insulted by what i said, then I apologise. But I won't apologise for what I believe. Please read this very carefully .. I don't believe in bisexuality but I NEVER said it didn't exist.
