Yes! In Australia 46% of marriages end in divorce, 'straight' people can't get it right. Who are we to judge what is right or wrong.

Its so great to see support like this here. What I mean is some of the attitudes that you hear in public! I just hope people can get over themselves so our kids don't have to grow up hearing some of the negative views in society that unfortunately still exist!

Yes without a doubt. It never ceases to amaze me that same sex couples are now considered the same as hetrosexual couples for the purposes of Centrelink, property settlements, taxation etc yet the government then turns around and says that they are not the same when it comes to recognising their relationship under the Marriage Act. It is really them saying 'yeah you are equal financially and we want to take your money or limited your access to services/pensions but sorry you are not worthy of that other piece of paper'.

I appreciate that people may not feel comfortable doing so but I would be interested in why people voted no.

    Abso-freaking-lutely.

I think it'll happen eventually... it's being talked about more and more in the media, other places are doing it/have done it... and the pollies are stating their opinions on the issue. It might take a little while, but I do think it's on the cards.

Yes - its illegal to discriminate against in all other areas so why this country is allowed to discriminate against gay marriage is beyond me

Absolutely, and the fact that some people, thats right people! Dont have the same rights as others regarding marriage in this day and age, is a disgusting reflection on our government and society.
