I don't see the difference between gay couple infertility and hetero couple infertility. On what grounds do you draw the line?

Instead of falling in love with a man who can't regulate testicular temperature, I might have fallen in love with someone who has a different disability being disomy of chromosome 23. That condition doesn't cause mental retardation or anything else to adversely affect mental capacity or decision making. But It does greatly affect testicular development rendering them unable to produce sperm. Why should our hypothetical marriage be disallowed because of their genetic/physical defect?

elleseetee, I'm genuinely interested... We're talking about legislation here; would you actually have the government legislate that marriage be restricted to those who procreate? And if not, why would you apply this criteria only to gays and not infertile or childless heterosexual couples?

Marriage and the law are a judeo christian concept and homosexuality is not excepted by both.

Could you clarify this please? As far as I'm aware, both marriage and law have existed beyond the realms of Judaism and Christianity. The Ancient Greeks certainly had both.

Marriage is a legal contract. You can throw religion in by having it in a church of your choosing, but that's optional.

    Hopefully2

I think you will find that 'marriage' and 'laws' were around well before the introduction of Judeo Christian Religion. That has been stated previously.

Your interpretation of those writings may lead you to believe that Homosexuality is not accepted, but there are people who believe differently - especially people who have studied and know that particular religion inside and out.

I hope your Dad is happy, and is supported by his family for simply being him

Same sex parents are officially recognised on birth certificates, why not marriage certificates.
NEW LAWS TO RECOGNISE FEMALE SAME-SEX CO-PARENTS
In June 2011 South Australian laws were passed to recognise female, same-sex couples as the co-parents of babies. For births registered after 15 December 2011, the birth mother and co-parent can both be included on the birth registration and birth certificate in some cases. For births registered before 15 December 2011, the birth mother and co-parent can apply to change the birth record to add the female partner as a co-parent in some cases.
