I got it wrongs, although I think things are changing over there by the sounds of things. Scarily so!! And I think different states have different laws, just like here.

Haha he sure is! I saw a male politician on TV recently and wasn't paying much attn so didn't catch his name and he basically agreed that the pill shouldn't be covered by insurance but viagra should!! So by Rush's words - "men want to be paid to have sex" and are allowed to enjoy it but women aren't allowed to enjoy sex (how many of us can truly enjoy sex when we don't want children and can't access contraception). Typical over there!

    ETA

Senators voted 51-48 to set aside a measure proposed by Republican Roy Blunt that would have exempted employers like Catholic hospitals, universities and charities from an Obama healthcare provision that requires most employers to offer free insurance coverage for women’s contraceptives.

I don't see why it would require insurance if the pill is free so sounds like it's no longer the case.

lol he is so stupid, the comment about having so much sex she cant afford it he obviously doesnt know that the pill is the same price weather you sleep with 1 guy or a hundred and if she was a prostitute she would get it free because most of the prostitutes (at least in CA) are on welfare so they get it free. I can kinda see where the religious companies wouldnt want to pay for something they dont believe in like preventing births but that article and man are stupid

oh and prostitutes use condoms which you can walk into family planning offices and grab a handful off the front counter desk no charge no matter who you are.

Yeah see how it works is there is medi-cal which is free for people under a certain income bracket (pretty high) and then private insurance companies you pay for and they cover x amount of stuff, then you can get insurance through your job if you want and they deduct a bit from paychecks and then they act like the private ones.

That makes sense LMF. I just hope that one day over there women's health and sexuality is treated equally to men's within the healthcare system.

It sounds like religion is not separate from State like it is here which is pretty frightening.

Yerp the attacks on Planned Parenthood are ridiculous.

and everytime I read something or watch something from Rick Santorum I kinda wanna vomit!

[obviously I'm not up to speed on all the political terms and all the agendas etc -- just going by what I've seen]

It's to do with coverage at religious institutions.

I was reading that, so I can see where some religions wont want to cover something they dont believe in guess you just have to be careful who you work for and make sure you are on the same level and thought process on certain subjects.
