I've been involved with DoCS (or DCP as they are called in wa) for the last 12mnths in regards to a friend and they ALWAYS have photo id on a lanyard around their neck like Del said. They only ever visit the house in groups of 2 and are always firm but polite.

The fact there is no file about your DD is incredibly strange.

I hope the police have been able to help.

and I should add the fact there is no file speaks volumes. The process of CP is intake - where they get the call the worker will take notes, if it's deemed worthy it's then passed to response - who do the call out and any removals - then the case management teams, who are allocated files to work with families.

If it got to response there should be a file, even notes from intake...

Yes, I don't think I have ever been so worried about someone I don't really know, I hope it all works out

I am 100% certain that they were not DoCS workers. Firstly, DoCS is not called DoCS now so that wouldn't be on any official business card. They are called Community Services now. So there's a red flag right there.

Child protection officers would NEVER storm into someone's house, yell and abuse a parent - ESPECIALLY not in front of a child - and search your house, taking photographs with no police present or no consent from you, no ID shown, no paperwork given to you etc.

It just doesn't and wouldn't happen. Full stop.

I am very seriously concerned for your safety and the safety of your child and your young brother. Going to the police station is very wise and I hope they were able to give you advice as well as start investigating this as I believe your ex is either trying to scare you or trying to take your child. I'm sorry, I don't mean to scare you but this is serious.

If you read this tonight, I would advise you to leave your house. Go and stay with a friend, in a motel - whatever. I wouldn't be going back until the police "get" your ex and his accomplices and until it is safe.

I am so sorry you are in the situation. I feel so much for you. I hope you have some support people in your life that you can lean on while this is all getting sorted out.

That's NOT docs at all that sounds like a con to me I've had a case. Worker myself (due to PND and my mothers manipulation) and they were nothing like that at all I'd refuse to let them in notify local police

I'm with Jagamoe. It sounds fishy. Did they show you ID? Did they provide you with a notice of entry? Did they leave you with their cards?

Sounds to me like the ex is trying to get to you again.

I'd report this incident, take photos, keep notes and, if you can, move your child/children to a safe place for a while.

And like Jagamoe says, call the Police should they cross your door again.
