you've gotten some wonderful advice, it sounds very fishy to me. I hope you can get to the bottom of it all.

Sounds very odd! If there had been a report about your children it would be on file. Whether or not they actually feel they need to action it or not.

I would have thought their ID or card would show Department of Community Services rather than DOCS. I see on your profile you are from NSW, that appears to be who handles child protection.

    Sounds rather suss to me!!

Yes please please goto the police now and report this, scams like this happen when people want to find out if you have stuff in your house worthy of burglary.

We have had people asking to come in to look for their cat in our backyard but insisting on coming through the house, we denied and reported it and the police told us to be wary of a number of scenarios that were popular at the time for possible future break ins.

I hope the police help you. This sounds very serious & concerning. Especially if they managed to get your brother out of class at his school too! I'd be making a formal complaint to the school about that as well! But, please, please make sure you are safe - these thugs have photos of your whole house!

Do you have any friends that have a big dog you could put in your back yard tonight and tomorrow, just something off putting you can look after for a few days

If I was you I would be spending the night at a family members house until the police get on to it.
Does your ex have money? He could have hired them.
    Docs don't behave like this.

Let us know what the police say. And stay safe.

The school also had a lot to answer for!
