Default Flashcard DVDs and its effectiveness?

Hello, I have been doing flashcards with my 16 months old girl for about half a year to come. But recently, i was introduce to winktolearn.com flashcard dvds by a friend of mine. Its almost similar to those physical flashcards but they input it into dvds with pictures and words. I'm really tempted to get two languages to try but would like to have some advice. Thanks so much!

What is your definition of effectiveness? I wouldn't be bothering with flashcards of any kind or educational DVD's of any kind at 16 months of age. What your dd needs is lots of you talking to her about all sorts of things and lots of play time with lots of different experiences. Time for structured 'learning' can most definitely wait.

If you're wanting to do something to encourage language have you thought about baby sign language? Google it or find an iphone app and get started. My ds was signing a few words at that age and as you probably know any extra words are a bonus at 16 months!
