    I menstruated at 10 also, which was a shock to my mum. I think the thing to consider is that she is going to have a full range of adult feelings well ahead of her peers. The emotional and psychological aspects of sexual maturity can be very hard to deal with at 10. There's good evidence that girls who hit puberty early are at increased risk of sexual promiscuity, poor school performance and emotional disturbances generally. So in conclusion I'd suggest heaping on the nurturing and openess because she is going to need guidance.

    Let me just say, coming from someone whose mother said "you know where the effing pads are" (when I woke her to tell her I got my period at 10) that you've done a brilliant job! Such a huge milestone in life you've handled it very well.

    No practice advice, but my grandma got my 2 16 year old cousins girl stuff by caz cook a few years back and they both love it.It was particually helpful to one of them while her mum was overseas for 6 months 2 years back
