Default Working mums and school closures

What do working mums with school age kids do when schools are shut? Obviously I mean younger school age kids, or those with a disability who cannot be left home alone.

When I was a kid my Mum used to send us to a friends house (most of my friends had SAHM's, whereas Mum worked full-time)

No school age kids yet here either but I'll be taking rec or personal leave when the time comes I guess. Personally for us I'm worried about school hols. I'll get 4 weeks off a year but I hate the thought of her being in vacation care for the rest. Don't get me wrong, she's in full time kindy now at 2, I think care is wonderful, but my school holidays were always so special with my mum or my nan, I hate thinking she will miss out on that

Not sure what I'll do! Maybe some sort of au pair/mothers help.

Ohhhhhh, I didn't realise the entire centre was closed I really don't know what I'd do, I'd have to either leave him with another mum friend and babysit for friend later as repayment or take carers leave/swap an RDO.

For me i either cant work unless i can work between vacation care hours until i get my license to then become more flexible. Even doing morning shift will be hard unless i become really good friends with the mum down the road and drop coop off there at 6am each morning as before school care doesnt open til 6:30am when i would need to start working.
