    Default First day

well we had a busy first day went to the library and checked out about 15 books, printed some math sheets out and off we went. The kids were a bit hyper at the beginning but then settled right down and they really enjoyed it, I had planned to do Math, history, science, reading but we didnt get to the history My husband had fun as did I.

Got a pic of them doing a great job thought I would share483163_10150601658291881_684001880_9424069_1073831594_n.jpg

She has just left year 7, currently deschooling and will be doing informal learning. She has a great interest in History and learned more outside of class from books and shows on her own. She enjoys 'Horrible Histories' and has a list of books she wants to read. That is how we will cover History as well as visiting Museums etc.
Do you have a curriculum? Whereabouts are you?

no curriculum yet, right now we checked out books to do with history and science and I read a few chapters then write down questions, each kid has their own book they then read and answer. For spelling we are making note of what they are spelling wrong and make a list of 10 words for them to study then do a test on friday. Math we are doing worksheets and will be buying math books from the schools because I have hard time explaining the Algebra because its second nature to me and i do a lot in my head.

There should be a shop near you with educational supplies. They would have science, maths, English, etc products. I buy from one here both professionally and for home use. We have posters up, which I will put on walls in the living areas when I start looking after kids and homeschooling here.
