First time can seem daunting so make sure you ask lots of questions no matter how silly you think they are!

    Thanks rae81.

I've asked the dr plenty. From your experience do the fertility drugs have a great affect on your moods?? I just worry what all the drugs are really doing to me as it seems so in natural. I'm surprised after the trouble I've had conceiving that anyone actually falls pregnant naturally. Those couples are so lucky.

They do alter your moods (or at least they do for me). I find I'm sooky or I can fly off the handle for no reason. I must say that you know you are being a ***** but you don't seem to be able to stop yourself from doing it. Some cycles are worse than others so I can't say what triggers it! I did lock myself in my office one day last week cause I just knew I'd lose it at someone if they annoyed me! Don't worry though if you know to expect it you can manage it

Hi I'm a newby to bubhub. We are about to start our 4th ICSI cycle. Our story is MFI our first two cycles our embies made it to day 4 then pretty much stopped they were fragmented and graded at c's. I went to see a natruopath after the 2 failed attempts which I went on a detox and uped my vitamins and started on False Unicorn Root. 3rd cycle embies were alot healthier they put back two a B grade and a better looking C grade ( makes me think the previous c grades were more like D grade) Unfortunately BFN.
We are going to try Short down protocol on the 4th cycle, I have also started Acupuncture and chinese medicine . So waiting for AF unsure of the timetable of the SDP.

Hi and welcome to your new thread-home emmylou81, rae81, motherwillbe and Eaglegirl

I hope everyone is having a well deserved break over Easter.
For those of you trying acupuncture, I said I’d report back after my first period... wow what a doozy!
My acupuncturist warned me that it would be rough, because she was focusing on cleaning out the old lining to make way for a fresh new one.
I was in agony the other night... cramps like I’ve never felt before! I was so bloated I thought I might pop! Here’s hoping it was all worth it.

Not long now Sariele! How are the final Wedding preparations coming along?

Hey all, welcome to motherwillbe & Eaglegirl

Motherwillbe, I found that my moods were really good during IVF. I usually suffer from terrible PMS, so thought it would be horrible, but I felt really contented & calm on the meds. I think, however that I am the exception rather than the rule. My GP said that obviously my body liked the hormones I figure I was quite lucky. But who knows; next IVF cycle I might be a queen b%*ch

Ms Jo, intersting you say that about AF & accupuncture. I'd never connected the 2. But my AFs were terrible while I was doing accupuncture. I'm not sure whether or not to do acu again... I love it, but it adds another $200 a week (before rebates) onto our IVF bills, so I'm just not sure. After 2 failed cycles using acu, I'm thinking of giving it a break for the next cycle. Our FS was really pro doing acu, then the last time we saw him, he said that the most recent study into it doesn't show better implantation rates. But, I did find it very good for managing my stress throughout....Even though it's expensive, I figure it can't hurt...? Decisions, decisions. I just don't want to have any regrets. If i do this cycle without acu & it doesn't work, will I always be thinking "if only I'd done acu, maybe it would have worked...?"

Hope everyone has had a great long weekend. Hugs to all.

Hello! Can I please join the thread?

I'm starting my first round of IVF at the end of this month. (Would have started it straight away, but we are away for a week in the middle of when treatment would be).

We've been trying for a year now for number 2. Needed Clomid the first time, which worked, but tried it this time with no luck. Also did FSH, and 3 rounds of IUI, all to no avail.

No problems with DH, but I don't ovulate.

FS has given me the contraceptive pill to take this month, which seems really bizarre when TTC (!), but it's to ensure I have a period so we can start IVF in a few weeks.

Having already done the FSH/ IUI I'm used to some of the things (like the injections), but am pretty nervous about the stress of it all. Saw a QFG psychologist (included for free with the IVF) the other day, and that was very helpful in coming to terms with it all.

Hope to talk to some ladies who are going through the same thing.
