Hi everyone I am a newbie to the whole forum use so please bear with me! I was googling and this thread came up, I would be really grateful to have some company through my upcoming IVF cycle! It is all pretty new to me, my husband and I had a baby girl in 2008 (concieved naturally - after trying for a long time).
We have pretty much been trying for a second ever since with no luck. I have been on the pill the last few weeks, due to start injections next week with an OPU scheduled for sometime in the week commencing 14 May. I am pretty much scared to death about the whole process (paranoia about OOHS) and any medical procedure really. I have no expeirence and am unsure of the timing of blood tests and ultrasounds etc (if anyone can give me an idea of how many/often through the process I'll have these that'd be great...)

Any advice on how to cope is appreciated! (ps: me - 32, hubby - 34, daughter - 4)

Hi Khutch and Nrtee (and all the newbies and first timers)
I am not that experienced as some at the whole IVF game as some others in here, but I just wanted to say hello and welcome, now that you have found us, you are NOT ALONE!! I only found this site during my first cycle in Jan 2012 and it has been my best friend on this crazy journey ever since
My advice I would like to offer is this: Be kind to yourself during this process, it is different experience for everyone. I hope you have lovely IVF nurses to answer your questions and be there to listen to the laundry list of questions you will have! Use them, that is what they are there for!! I know this is easier said then done (almost impossible I reckon) but try to relax and not stress too much?? Good luck to all of us on this crazy rollercoaster ride that is infertility, and what we have to go thru to reach our common goal. to you all, and hope to hear some good news from all of us real soon

I am so mad. The clinic said that as soon as AF appeared they would get me in to see a dr. What a load of rubbish. I called today and was told i had to go on the pill for 2 weeks as they cant get me into see a dr until 11th May. I am so mad. If I knew this two weeks ago I would have stressed that I wanted an appointment made now. Just another set back and now I am crying at work.

Hi ladies! My computer has gotten a virus for the 2nd time so I'm resorting to my phone so apologies that I won't b able to do any personals as my memory isn't that flash
Squeak that is terrible! I would have been extremely angry and upset as well. I have no words to make it better for you but I really hope the time goes as quick as possible so u can get started.
Afm, I had a scan yesterday and another one tomorrow. Looks like we have a decent amount of follies this time and might b doing epu Monday. Will no more tomorrow. Trying not to think about it too much as it usually consumes my life and knowing that this is the last cycle we can afford for a while really has me nervous.
Hope everyone had a good Anzac day yesterday!

Thanks. After stewing on my news for 2 hours I got the courage to call the clinic to complain. Surprisingly I now have a dr appointment tomorrow. The receptionist was so fantastic about it. I am now super happy.
I was so angry as all i need is a higher dose so i can get more than one follicle.

Thanks megbob and welcome ntree! Not sure about you guys but am getting very nervous (not sleeping an dco fort eating to take my mind of the injections - which start next week! Eeek) I have a fairly high pressure job to and can't take a block Of time off, I am worried about being a mega *****. I usually give so much to everyone else its hard to withdraw from that a bit. No one at my work knows so was wondering how everyone else manages their blood tests and ultrasounds around work??? Anyway it is really nice to finally have a place where I can talk! So... Thank you!
