We have both joint and separate but are going to close the separate accounts because they are just not getting used but attract fees.

DP has another bank account that his great grandmother has deposited money into weekly since he was a small child. He's almost 30 and she's still giving him pocket money. I find it ridiculous given his wage and that she is only on the pension. She's such a sweetheart and won't stop.

We have a joint everyday account. Had one ever since we started saving for our house. All our savings are in my name. We always talk to each other before big purchases and never had a my money/ your money thing.

Separate. The closest we come to a joint account is his credit card which I have my own card for and the mortgage which he pays anyway. As a SAHM I have no income apart from my monthly allowance from DH but I have had my bank account number since I was 6 and can't bear to lose it! DH pays the bills and I do the shopping . My parents had separate money as I grew up and were responsible for different bills ie Mum chose to send us to a Catholic school so she had to pay for it as Dad isn't religiously inclined. It's worked for them and 34 years later they are still together & still keeping things separate.
