Both. We have an account just in our names each and a joint one. But we both have access to each others account with cards and treat them no differently to we would a joint account. One account is for bills only, another for savings and the other for daily things like food shopping or spending money etc.

Basically the only thing we can't do on each others account is close them. We don't see them any different to a joint account except they don't have both our names on the statements. Not worth the hassle of closing them.

We have separate accounts but it's only because we haven't got our act together and organized ourselves! We earn about the same amount so just take turns paying for things and we pay the bills and mortgage for a house each. Once we get married next month we'll probably look at consolidating things.

His wages go into an account i have acsess to so i make sure everything is paid and he gets $100 per week to blow on junk food and beer at camp if its a bad week he only takes $50, i allocate the rest of the money to our regualr bills, rent, loans, food shopping, fuel, credit card repayments- if i buy stuff like clothes etc...

My pay goes into a seperate account but that is our house deposit savings, its just in my name because hes hopeless with numbers etc...

His money pays for all our stuff, but i am in complete control of it.

We have a joint and then my account . I don't want to lose my account, DH wants to switch banks an have everything go into our joint account. I don't know why but I love having my own account, there's not much money in it as I don't work but still!!! Hahah

Both. My wages go into the joint then direct debits and bills pretty much hack away at everything until hubbys spending is left. My bank account turned into to savings since I don't trust DH to save large amounts.
