How Long Did it take your cycle to regulate after the pill

Hi, Hubby and I decided that by stopping the pill, if we fell pregnant then great, and if we didn't then we have more time working on renovations to the house.
I had been on the pill (trifeme 28) for 7 years. I had stopped the pill for a month a three times in that 7 years (i forgot to fill my script) and my cycle was always regular.
After stopping the pill officially in October, I assumed even with all the reading stating it could take months to get regular again my cycles would stay at 28days.
At the end of November my doctor sent me for two blood tests and an ultrasound all coming back with nothing.
AF visited for the first time at the end of December making it a 79day cycle.
I am starting to think this was a chemical pregnancy as my boobs were extremely sore to touch or even put a shirt on for the 2 weeks before AF visited. When AF finally arrived the first two days suffered extreme cramps.

This has been my only period since October last year, and now on day 76 and feeling like a freak and worried for being so irregular.

Are there anyone else out there with a similar story or have any advise?

My first AF turned up when it was supposed to be but I stopped mid cycle. Than it didn't turn up until 3 months later than another 2-3 month cycle. Blood test confirmed PCOS and I was referred to a FS. For me my AF never returned to what was normal and regular before the pill. I blame the pill for trigging my PCOS and I'll never return to it or any hormonal contraception
Good luck I hope AF returns regularly for you soon but don't hesitate to return to your gp for more test if your worried or it doesn't return very soon

I went off the pill in September last year, didn't get AF until feb! Then it lasted for nearly 2 weeks and now waiting for it to show again arghhh I don't think I will ever go on the pill again! Hope it arrives for you soon

My cycle returned to normal first cycle off the pill. Took my last tablet, had a bleed then 29 days later there she was again. I had been on the pill for 11 years and repeatedly skipped my period. I would sometimes go
4 months without it. I'm sure it will regulate soon. Good luck!

Misiu I hope ur cycle regulates also.
I brought one those maybe baby saliva testers. I believe I ovulated last Thursday evening Friday. So I'm thinking I have the patience to wait this out. If I don't get Af on Thursday. Might test the following. Hope for a positive. So fingers cross Af comes or a positive hpt.

I went off the pill 2 months ago because I had non stop bleeding on it after having dd (I tried to give it 3 months to work, but after bleeding for 3 months I gave up and went off it)
The day I stopped the pill I stopped bleeding... AF is no where in sight :-/

This has never happened to me before, have had heaps of tests all showing up nothing. I have been referred to a gyne to see what's going on and why I can't handle hormonal birth control.. Good luck! And I hope you get regular soon

From memory my first cycle after 9 years on the pill was 33 days, I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate though. Next cycle was 29 days and the cyle after that I fell pregnant. I had been regular before going on the pill though.

Not sure what I can suggest - maybe go back to your doctor? Hope it's sorted for you soon!

My cycles have been very long since coming off the pill..the shortest was 35 days and the longest has been 62 days..Last cycle was FINALLY a normal 29 day cycle. It took 8 1/2 months but I finally got it..Hope that it stays that way!!

I hope your cycles straighten out soon!

Thanks for sharing you experience. Hopefully number 1 will be on his or her way for you shortly. I am officially at 79 days again. I am hoping I can hold out till Tuesday or Thursday which will be a week late from the last cycle before I test. Though I don't have any symptoms like I did last time before AF visit.
