    Default Colorado protocol

Hi all, I'm on day 6 of jabs and really feeling the effects. I've been upped to 225 of puregon, compared to 150 last time so it seems to be hitting me faster.

Another question for you all....did you find that the drugs made you gain weight? I did on my first cycle but I'm gaining more this time and I suspect it's the dexamethasone. Is it just me? It's making me feel quite sad as I was trying hard to lose a little and now I'm gaining even though I'm eating really healthily!!

Francisca, how's your TWW going? I've been thinking of you.

Kel, how are you doing? How is baby Olivia? Thank you for the reassuring stories of other women who gave given birth real early. Yes it is amazing what they can do now in hospital for such tiny babies! I hope it doesn't happen to me and that I can get as close to full term as possible. My scan is early tomorrow morning so will let you know how I go. 23 weeks tomorrow too, can't believe it! Hubby said he'll take me for breakfast after the scan too, I just hope we get good news re my cervix. Bubs has been real active since yesterday morning, I can feel kicks in my bladder. Did you get that too ?

MrsErin, you are right, Dexamethasone does contribute to weight gain so its important to try eat as healthy as you can. I always put on about 3kg with each cycle so definately the drugs have a big effect. Always been a vicious cycle with me, up and down with my weight between cycles. You're probably expecting to have the egg collection around early next week?? Good luck and I hope you're not getting too sore. Take it easy!

    Hi Mary,
Good luck tomorrow. How exciting, can't wait to hear how you go. I really hope you cervix has stayed the same and has not shortened. I know what you mean about getting kicked in the bladder. It can hurt sometime. Are you still getting headaches? One of my friends is around 23 weeks pregnant and is getting terrible headaches. She wakes up with them.
Olivia is wonderful. 6 weeks tomorrow. She has her 6 week check up tomorrow. She is a very easy going baby. Abbey is still struggling. She is quite a little bugger. She put Gordon's iPhone in there pool. Not sure if it can be fixed.
    Have a lovely breakfast tomorrow.
MrsErin, when I did my first ivf cycle over 11 years ago I weighed 64kg. I am now well over that. Scary over it. I think ivf puts a lot of weight on you. Just try and think of the bigger picture. On my last two cycles I was put on the max dose of injections. Which I think was 450. Had a big difference on how it made me feel. As I am getting older, my egg collections dropped a lot. From double fingers to two eggs. Good luck next week with you collection. Keep us posted on how you go.

    Take care girls Kel xxx

Kel, great news this morning! No change in my cervix, all stayed the same. Woohoo I'm so relieved. I see my OB tomorrow so pretty sure he'll be happy for me to continue resting at home till the next check up in 2 weeks. No hospital, yayy!! Bub was all fine too, kicking away and measuring perfectly on time. I'm sooooo happy. Breakfast with hubby was nice too. So lovely to get out even if its for alittle while. I hope your hubby can salvage the iPhone but I doubt it if its been in water. Good luck with Olivia's appointment, I'm sure she's doing great!!

Awesome news Mary!!!! You should be proud of yourself. After all these years, and it wont be long before you are holding your beautiful little baby.
Hi Kel, i am glad you have a good little bub, makes things easier, especially when you have other children to worry about as well.

    Default Colorado protocol

Thanks Maryz. I've put on about 1.3kg since Saturday. Very depressing!

I'm on day 8 of stims. Tomorrow is my first BT and Scan and also my first intralipid IV day which is exciting in a weird kind of way. I'm kind of expecting pick up to be roughly middle of next week.

Kath, thank you! You know just imagining the moment I first see and hold my baby makes me start to cry now! I think I'll be an emotional wreck going into the c-section. What a journey it has been! Not too long to go now. I cannot wait ) How are you feeling?

MrsErin, try not to worry too much about the weight gain. Remember it's the drugs and once you stop them then the weight readjusts. Main thing is keep eating healthy. All the best with the intralipid tomorrow. I actually always found them enjoyable cause you sit around and talk to the other ladies ) As long as you get a talkative bunch that is ) Youre doing great and not too much longer till egg collection. Here's hoping for lots of awesome eggies for you )

Mary, i am just the same. I still find it hard to believe after all this time that i am pregnant. And i get a bit teared up thinking about when we meet our little man. So amazing to think we are growing little humans in our bellies while we go about life. Mind boggling, and super cool!!!

    Default Colorado protocol

Hi ladies, 19 follicles on my scan today with 5 leading the way at around 12-14mm. They expect more to catch up. Pretty happy with that. Another BT and scan on Monday and hoping EPU will be Wednesday.

    Intralipid IV went well.

Good to have everything happening even if the meds are making me feel a little yucky.

Hope you're all doing well today.

MrsErin, great news. You're doing great and not too much longer to go till EPU. Hang in there

Kath, totally agree with you. It's amazing to think a little human is growing in our belly. Are you gaining weight? Surprisingly I'm not at all, just stuck on the same weight since I was 12 wks.

Kel, you asked if I'm still having headaches. Yes I am but luckily not every day now. Usually every second day and they tend to always start in the late afternoon. The headaches have really been the worst part of this pregnancy. OB thought its blood pressure related but my blood pressure has been good. I think it must just be hormone related.

AFM, saw my OB today and he's very pleased with my scan results and no change in my cervix. I have to continue resting at home. I have scans and OB check ups fortnightly now do we'll see what happens in 2 weeks, fingers crossed!!

Has anyone considered cord blood banking?

    Mary xx
