Kel, great to hear Olivia is doing well. Woww she's put on lots of weight in a month, that's great. Are you breast feeding? How often do you breast feed at night? Is it true you can't alternate between bottle feeding and breast feeding and must do one or the other?? Keep well!!

Kath, sorry to hear your hips are giving you some grief. I have a sore left hip too but it was sore before pregnancy. So far it hasn't got worse luckily. Maybe try a heat pack before bed? I'm trying to sleep mostly on my left side but when I desperately need to switch positions then I might briefly lie on my back or sleep in my right side for abit. It's sooo hard sleeping only on the left side! Maybe physio might help?? I know a specialist told me I need physio for my hip but I never got around to going as I got pregnant. Hope you can find some relief.

    Hi Maryz

This is my second IVF cycle, but I did the first one with NL too. I guess I was just lucky that our GP referred us to someone so proactive as it sounds like many FS are not! On our first cycle we got a day 5 embryo implanted but no pregnancy, so we launched into a whole lot of tests, NK cells being one. I haven't heard results for the rest but I'm hoping no news is good news!

I rang the pharmacy and they said Filgrastim injections are $190 each. We're going to chat to NL about whether that is really essential as it is so costly. We will definitely be on the intralipid and the many other things.

At the moment, I'm just sniffing Synarel and won't start jabbing until the end of January. I haven't met Matthew yet because we've been at Hawthorn, but I'll be going to Clayton this time as apparently that's needed for the intralipid treatment.

    Thanks for your best wishes.

    Hi Maryz,

I read some of your posts, which really encouraged me to come back to this forum. Thank you for sharing with us your courage and determination.
I have done 4 cycles with no success. Now with NL at Monash IVF, I am faithful that my 5th cycle will work.
The colorado protocol is huge and I got totally overwhelmed when was firstly " introduced" to it. It is my sixth year on this rocky road and I think that is it.
I had 3 laparoscopy surgeries and the last one found the Nk cells.
Now at 41 I feel it will be my time. Fingers crossed.
Today I had my EC, not as many eggs as I used to have, but hopefully for this time is about quality not quantity.
I have been using Filigrastam, but it is $190 for 5 x .20 injections. It is hard on the body and pocket, but I said to myself that it is my last cycle.
Best of luck to all the girls in this forum and for all the mother's to be.

Hi Francisca, welcome to this forum! I assume you did your other cycles elsewhere and this is your first cycle with NL? It is such a tough road, I know, but believe me you've found the most proactive doctor you will get! I had really lost all hope I'd ever get pregnant, I was just continuing with the cycles and moved to NL because I thought well I still have time I'm in my late 30s and at least well if it never worked then I'd tried for as long as I could. I'm now nearly 21 wks preg with our little miracle. Give NL a chance, he is fantastic and I think at 41 you still have time. Stay positive and I wish you tonnes of luck for this cycle. Stay with the Colorado, it's the aggressive treatment that is so common in the USA, it works!! Best of luck.

Hi all, I see we have some new ladies joined. Welcome and good luck with it all. I also have had luck with the Colorado, intralipid and filgastram. It is worth every cent to finally get what you deserve... I was on my last go as the Colorado didn't work the first time but the second bingo! this was after four tries before Dr Nick.
Mary, you must be feeling super confident right now. Look how far you are now woo. Just another thing, do you pay for your scans when you have them? If so how much. I was thinking if you need any just let me know and i can help you to come to my work.
Kath i'm guessing all is very well with the lovely Olivia and the twins are all over her now?.
Bwana, how are you going. Yesterday, it was not a hot day, however i seem to be getting loads of fluid that i am a little woried about. Whilst at work i seem to be fine as when patients arrive i get up and down..but as soon as the weekend comes i seem to have problems. So i have put it down to, don't sit too long, nor stand too long!
    Take care all,
    Rae xoxo

Hi ladies, I never had any experience with Filgrastim but there was definately something NL recommended and it was like over $1000 just for one injection and they said if I got pregnant I would have to have 1 or 2 more. We didn't do it cause of the cost and just did the intralipid. It's hard to make that decision sometimes and we were just lucky to have success without it.

Rae, great hearing from you. I was thinking about you and how you're going. Sounds like fluid retention in your legs? Pretty common in pregnancy. Maybe do try rest when you can. I'm like the queen of resting here, so boring some days! I'm having scans once per month through the Monash IVF ultrasound crowd. I go to Box Hill now for the scans, refuse to go to Clayton ultrasound they hopeless there. For the first 3 scans I paid like 250 each time and they said from the 4th scan its $130 and you get nearly half back from Medicare so not too bad. Thanks heaps for your offer. My next scan is this Thurs the 21 wk scan so we'll just stick to box hill this time. I did have a scan last week organised by my GP locally as I freaked out about feeling no movement and they were nice to just bulk bill me. I see NL again on Friday. Hoping I can stop the progesterone pessaries with any luck, so sick of them day and night. You keep well, you're doing great!!

    Default Colorado protocol

Maryz, I rang Slades pharmacy and they said Filgrastim 300mcg was $190. My script is for 75mcg/day so I'm hoping that $190 gives me 4 days worth!

Anyway, I'm going to drop in there Thur to confirm, before I see NL. We will be going ahead with it if it's that price.

Still expensive though! Especially if I succeed in getting a BFP and need to stay on it until week 8.

Thanks for the welcome Just1. This thread is great. Nice to meet other people doing the same protocol.

I'm dying to get started but so far just sniffing Synarel. So boring.

MrsErin, I know what you mean, the cost of the meds certainly adds up. I was on progesterone injections from week 6 to week 13 and that was $30 per injection or $152 for 5 days I paid to Slades. But when it works its all worth it ) Good luck!

When i was on the filgastram i paid the same from slades. I was able to pick up i think five at a time. Mary $1000 was for the period of time Dr Nick wanted you on them i believe, but still expensive when you add it onto all the other meds. As i live in Noble Park i was able to pick them up from South Eastern Hospital around the corner. So if it in covenient for you to pick them up elsewhere and easier to get to, ask them where they have delivery sights at!. Hope this helps you girls.

    Hi Girls,
Sorry it takes me a fews days to post. Glad everyone is doing great.
Rae, How are you going? Are you still getting the swelling? I think it's alot to do with this terrible heat. Are you still looking into Hypnobirthing? Whatever make you happy. I say go for it.
Kath, How are you going? How many weeks are you now? Thank-you for asking about the twins. My little boy Foster is doing great. Abbey was doing great. Then today she had a bad day. Olivia would not settle and Abbey wanted to get on my knee. Just hard sometimes.
Mary, I can't believe you are almost 21 weeks. That is great. When do you have your next scan? You are doing a amazing job. Look how far you have come.
Welcome Erin, to our little group. Hoping that your 2nd cycle is the one that works. I am a believer in the colorado protocol. It took me 7 full IVF cycles and 6 frozen transfers to get my beauitful 4year old twins and 1 frozen transfer, 2 full IVF cycles and then 1 colorado protocol.
Good luck, theses wonderful girls are a great support. It helps knowing there is people going through the same thing you are. Please keep us posted.
Francisca, Welcome also to our little group. I wish you all the best for your 5th cycle. Don't worry about being 41. I have a friend that had a IVF baby this year at 42. She had a beauitful baby boy. I have also just had a baby at 40.
AFM, Am starting to feel alot better. Just over 3 weeks after having Olivia. Loving every minute. Not doing a great job with the breast feeding. Expressing mostly. Topping up with formula. Not ideal, but not sure what else to do.
Have to go, sorry, screaming buba.
Take care and talk soon. Kel. xxxxxx
