Default What contraceptive works for you?

I was just wondering what contraceptive form you are on and has it helped your periods, irregular/heavy bleeding or has it made it worse?
Have you had any side effects your not happy with?

Right now I'm on nothing (condoms)
I have heavy periods but it seems when I go on contraceptive I have break through bleeding and messed up periods, and slight weight gain (+2-3kgs nothing major)
I'm going to see a gynecologist as they suspect I have endo (other symptoms not linked to contraceptive)
I have been looking up about different methods ect of contraceptive and would like to have a good chat to the gyne about it all.
Just wanting to hear others experiences and what they like and don't like.

Thank you in advance for your replies

In the past I have only tried OCP's and have been thinking of trying nuvaring but still undecided on what ones I would like to mention to the gyne.

Being pregnant is the only contraceptive we've found totally accurate... :P

I do like my diaphragm though and won't be using anything else after I have this bellybabe.

I was so OVER hormonal contractction for ages. I have some surgery 'down there' and after speaking to a gyne and giveing him ALL the details of EVERYTHING...bubs, birth, sex life, hormones, future plans, past contraceptions used etc. And after him haveing a FULL look around he gave me a script for 'leven ED' and its the BEST contraception ive had EVER!!! I was having CRAZY mood swings on ALL otherpills i was taking, i bleed constantly on Implanon and was just totally OVER it all.

Now i have 2 days where im a little cranky before AF, i have a 4 day period and every other day is PERFECT!!!

Anyway, after all that, my point is, talk to a specialist and tell him EVERYTHING and he/she will make an educated decision based on YOU, not the MAJORITY!! This is was Gyne's are for, this is what they DO!!

    Good luck

I'm on nothing. We use condoms and it my periods are better then when I was on the pill. When I first went off it, it was horrible and painful but now it's all good

I was on the implanon for the last nearly 7 years & loved it

I used to have heavy painful periods but on the implanon they got light and I had next to no cramping
It did cause a bit of weight gain but most contraceptives do.

ETA - I also didn't take long(2mths) to fall pregnant once off it compared to some other contraceptives that can muck you body around heaps

Other then that I really forgot it was even in there!
