Default tubes tied while having c section

Hi ladies I am having my third baby due late august. I will be having a c section as I
Can't give birth naturally and was wondering if anyone has had their tubes tied at the same time. Will all hospitals do it? I am having my last at women's and children's hospital.

I'm not sure if all hospitals will do it but two of my friends have had it done. Have you spoken to your OB about it?

I know the Mater Private won't, but my friend went public and she got it done during her second C-section.

I went public....was trying for a vbac2 for number 3 but it didn't work out so had a c/s and had my tubes tied at the same time . There were no hassles at all worked out well. My obs and the attending at the hospy made sure at the time that that is what I wanted and it only took a couple of extra minutes while there were in there.

As for recovery it didn't feel any different with my other 2 c/s.

    Yes they will.

I am going public and have already arranged that if I have to have a c/section that they can do my tubes at the same time. They offered.

BTW I do everything in my power not to have one, but if i do the paperwork for the tubes is already done.

The Mater Brisbane wont as it goes against the Catholic ethos of the hospital.

BTW they told me you had to have it pre arranged or they wouldn't do it.

My public regional hospital would. They said there is a slightly higher failure rate with doing it at the same time because everything is swollen, but they take a longer section of tube to give the best odds and would add about 30 mins to the op. They said if I wanted it done, I needed to sign the paperwork a week before just to show it wasn't a spur of the moment decision, but were more than happy to do it.

I decided not to get it done as the failure rate for a vasectomy is a lot lower and at least DH can get tested to make sure it's worked!!
