    Hi there
    Thanks for your replies!

I have 2 sons, one currently in Prep and one in Pre-Prep. The admissions registrar said that if we put our applications in for asap we could get a place as early as this/next year because sometimes people leave with a term's notice and other people on the list that were waiting had already enrolled elsewhere when they didnt get it. She seemed positive that they could get a place soon. Did I get the wrong impression? You say there are huge waiting lists.

Also, we would have to move and attend a state school in the are whilst waiting. Any advice on what state schools around are good?

Also, how do you find the general things like parking, parent involvement etc? And do you find there are many extra costs or is a lot of it included in the fees?

Also I've read other comments about the school being very strict? From what I saw everyone looked well-presented and were very polite, but they all seemed happy. Lots of lovely kids. We're pretty sure we want to go there, but just want to be totally sure

I was googling Ormiston in order to get onto the school website to check my emails as I still attend there. I have been reading about what you have said on this post and as I student I fear I contradict you in some areas. (And yes I had to sign up to this website just so i could reply !!) Firstly we actually use the theatre quite a bit other than musicals and assemblies. Drama classes do have access to it and spend quite a lot of time rehearsing productions or taking part in workshops in there. Secondly the facilities are used very well allowing us students to have access to them so we can fundraise for sport etc. We do often have frequent teacher turn over, but more then usually it is for maternity leave!

    Thanks,

Many drama teachers complained in staff meetings about lack of access and staff turnover is not always attributed to maternity leave. As staff I was privileged to a lot more information than the students

    Thanks
