Default American Idiot, All The Small Things

Would these be considered appropriate songs for a child to perform? DD does All The Small Things, but is learning American Idiot (guitar, singing) for a teenage birthday party as part of the music. So far it's only been at small gatherings, this will be in front of people we don't know.

What are other suggestions within that genre? (that an 8yo can learn in 7 weeks lol)

American idiot has swearing, so I don't think it's appropriate for a child.

Living end have some good songs.

Any songs with swearing are edited. Like in Boulevard of Broken Dreams she says 'messed' instead of the 'f' word.
