    Hi hi,

I have low ovarian reserve too but only found that out before beginning cycle 2. It isnt end of the world but it means time is running out in terms of how many eggs we have left.. ALso some FS associated LOR with poor egg quality. If you are still young, you have a good chance of catching some good eggs even if you may produce fewer. It is the quality that matter, not quantity. Chances are there esp if your DH hasa perfect sperm conditions.

I am in Melbourne and had my success with Monash IVF Clayton after 3 cycles with them. But I wouldnt recommend my FS cos he is not as fantastic as I hope he would be...he doesnt have much to suggest and told us just to keep trying.

    All the best.

    Default You've done well.

Glad to hear that you are successful. I had 3 trials - first being 0 follicle, then 1 and 1 in my recent 3rd cycle.

What approach did they use with your treatment? Nasal spray, puregon injections, pills?

I would totally recommend Dr Samuel Soo from MelbourneIVF. I was seeing him at WestmeadFertility Centre before he moved to Melbourne. My friend saw him and she got her BFP first go. He did my laparoscopy and I was toldafterwards that he is the best of the best for lap surgery. I wish he didn't leave!
    Best wishes to you

cucueee, my first and second cycles were long down reg but with 2nd long down reg i was not put on birth control pills. My 3rd and 4th cycles were antagonist cycles which I love, they are short and yielded same results for me in terms of egg nos.

mumtochris, i saw Samuel Soo just before starting my 4th cycle. Sought him for 2nd opionion and cos his clinic (melboburne IVF) does SCSA. We also thought MIVF does sperm magnification and wanted to do a cyce with them but found out they havent got the technology in. So we went back to doing the cycle with Monash IVF where we got the success.

He is very approachable but we felt that he kept pushing for us to do PGD. He seems quite aggressive regarding treatment and seems to be able to offer suggestions etc from that one appointment we had we him. That is a good thing.

Mom2Oneds - I hadn't seen that side of him before he left Westmead, all I knew was that he helped my friend get pregnant and I think she may have only seen him a few times as well. Great to hear Monash was a success for you

    Hi,

As a couple heading into their 2nd IVF cycle we have come to the conclusion when choosing a FS there are many things to consider. The most important are 1) an understanding 2) on time or apologise for delay in appointments 3) options to seek other opinions 3) compassion and finally 4) lines of communication must always be open. On the basis of this we have decided to change fetility specialists Dr Samule Soo has all the credentials but at the end of the day he lacked interpersonal skills, didn't give us options, always late for his appointments without an apology and made us feel like we were a bother because of his tardiness. He has a wonderful receptionist called Michelle and a fantastic team of IVF nurses at MIVF who are sympathetic to his poor ways, but they can only do so much.
The most important person in this adventure is you, you as an individual and you as a couple. You want a sympathetic and caring person to guide your through this transition in your life.
Research and make appointments to see several specialists, you will know which one is right for you.
    All the best xxx

Default I've low ovarian reserve. :( Any recommended Fertility Specialist in Melbourne?

I was a very poor responder, did 12 stim cycles some without getting any embryos, I recently had a amh done and it was less than 1. We did however finally get our DD on cycle 12, and I became preg with DS (at 41) naturally after 3 months! I believe with all my heart that what made the difference with us was DHEA. With both pregnancies I had been on DHEA for 5 months (the optimum time). Not sure of your age, but if you are older so some research on it. For many of us older girls it has been our wonder drug. Best of luck x
