at 11 months my DS said "Tata" only. He only had about 5 words at 18 months! I don't expect DD (8months) to say anything anytime soon, she's not a babbler and I don't care
they'll all be talking the same one day.

family....where life begins...and love never ends
DS1, cant remember, probably 3-4
DS2, He is 10mths old and has 10 words. Here, there, Mum, Dad, Nan, DS1, Booby, Ta, Star, no. He does actions for twinkle twinkle***(and says star when he does it). He Also does the actions for row row row your boat and makes sounds similar to 'row row row'.
BUT he has only just started to crawl properly.
*** He puts his hands up and waves his fingers, not the full actions (sorry if i wasnt clear, im so tired i shouldnt be writing) For row row he rocks back and forth.

I know my bub isn't as old as the most in this thread. But she is nearly 8 months old and says Mum/Mum-ma, Dad/Dada, Gamdad/Gamdada (Granddad), Hi, Hewlo (Hello), NanNanNan (Nanna), Yuck (2nd word she learnt), Yum, Owe (3rd word she learnt), Yaya/Yah (Yeah/Yah, my fault I saw yah all the time to her), bubbub.
She also knows Yes and No via nodding and when we say the dogs name she points to her.
And she knows the meanings to each word she says too. As she will either look at and say it or point to and say it. For instance today I said "Say bye to Granddad" and she turned away from nan, looked at him and said "Eye Gamdad".
Eye is the first time Ive heard her attempt a bye, so I havent counted it in the words.

Holy moly! DD is 8mo and barely even babbles! She just started saying dadadadada but only when she's got her fingers in her mouth for some reason. I'm not too worried though, she watches us talk intently, she'll probably just come out with a "well actually mother, I'd really prefer to have pumpkin with dinner tonight if it's not too much bother, and if you don't mind I crapped my pants a few moments ago and would much appreciate a fresh bum" lol.

according to her book she was saying about 30words, but about 20 of those are doubles (in two languages)
ps one of the boys at playgroup wasnt saying anything at 18 months, but 5 months on is rabbiting away!
He doesn't say any yet![]()
