    Default Floods?

Anyone affected by floods in our Bubhub community?

Not sure whether I missed a thread but just wanted to wish all affected by floods well.

Here is a photo of my Mum and Dad's farm. They've been kind of marooned for a week or so now but knowing Mum they'll have lots of provisions laid by. They can get out only by huge tractor. The level of the water has subsided - it was in the machinery shed (large shiny one) on Wed.

My parents are stuck on their farm. The water inundated their whole town. Luckily they live on farm outside town but they are likely to get hit by a lot of water this weekend as it heads down ******. They were able to get extra supplies last Saturday so I know they are fine.

I'm not far from helpIhavea2yo's parents and we are flooded in up to the back gate and front road. Going stir crazy but no damage like a lot of people have experienced. Just thousands of acres of wet paddocks.

I'd love an aerial shot like you have mrsd, what area is this in?

About an hour and a half north of Wagga (though nothing to do with the Murrumbidgee). They would have had the same rain, though.

Default We are at "Ground Zero"

We are at what they are calling "Ground Zero" of the overland flooding near Griffith. Our home has been underwater (minimum 5', I believe) for five days so far, and we have almost certainly lost this year's crop. My husband is going crazy because he isn't allowed to go home and do what he can.

We have been able to find a place to stay in town, and my children's school is settiing up temporary headquarters (at least until Easter) in a disused set of demountables which is, luckily, adjacent to the school I teach at.

On the plus side, my family is all safe, and we got our animals out. We are looking at a total loss of contents and, possibly, house.

Hugs to you, Fiona. I hope you have good insurance. What a mess you'll have to clean up (oops, not helping, am i?) But thank God you're all safe.

We have pretty much lost everything. Our crop is gone, and our vines will almost certainly die. Murrumbidgee Irrigation will not allow us to pump the standing water out of the fields to try and save the plants. Our house is probably unsalvageable, and most of our furniture is gone. We have an income because of my job, but my husband's livelihood is in a desperate position.

I don't know what we are going to do. Insurance will never cover what we have lost, if they pay up at all.

The inquiry into the way this mess was mismanaged is going to be very, very interesting indeed.
