My DS was 13 months old when I put him on normal full-cream milk. Our dr said that because he was eating well there is no need for formula/toddler milk. As far as I understand any time after 12 months is ok but ONLY if they are eating plenty of good food (red meat, green vegies, etc). Maybe talk to your dr.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply Ill wean her off the toddler milk..watered your son like the milk heated up? Alyssa uses a Sippy cup for all her milk and water....she still likes her milk warmed up. she is a good eater and is at the top percentile for weight and height she is 83cm tall already....takes after her daddy. Thanks again for your help :-)

If kids are eating a good diet, they don't need toddler milk. It's a gimmick of the formula industry to keep you as paying customers long after your kids require it. They tap into our want to do the best for our kids. They had me purchasing toddler milk with my first because I bought their advertising.

Kids don't need Milo either panku, it's really high in sugar. If your child isn't eating a balanced diet and you think they need supplementing with vitamins, try a childrens vitamin like pentavite (from the chemist) rather than milo which is mostly sugar. You really don't want to be sweetening milk otherwise they won't want it plain. It's the same with water, add cordial and soon they won't drink plain water.

I started my DD on cows milk at 12mths, but have just switched back to toddler formula (she's 14mths) because for the last 2 months she's had a terrible time going to bed. She has always been a 7 o'clock on the dot girl, but has been taking 1.5-2 hours to settle lately. So I'm wondering if the cows milk was making her tummy hurt?

Since we switched back to formula she's been happy to go to sleep again.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi everyone thankyou for all your help, my dd is growing well very tall for her age and perfect weight for her height. One of the reasons we kept her on the toddler milk was for the acid reflux and the toddler milk has a probiotic. I will finish the tin we have and start her on regular full cream. Thanks so much for all your help....it's much appreciated....have a great weekend everyone! :-)
