    Default Help... Please

So my problem is this.. Ds is exactly 2.5yrs and is happy to sit on the toilet.. I sit him on a few times a day.. He has never done anything though. Ill say push the wee out and i can see his little parts pushing lol sorry tmi. He gets off wipes lol and flushes the toilet. I dont think hes ready for toilet training yet as he hasnt actually done a wee in the toilet. Dp just thinks hes being lazy. Im worried cause he is a very smart little boy knows all his numbers.. Letters.. Colours.. Shapes etc why cant he get this?

Maybe reward him when he finally does do a wee, or incite him to do a wee. I'm not much help as we've only just started TT!

Is he showing any signs of being ready? Ie is he telling you once he has gone in his nappy? Can he feel that he wants to go? Has he started to refuse wearing nappies?

I'd encourage lots of undies time (so he can feel when he wets). When he has an accident, I'd say, "you are doing a wee/poo, that's what wee/poo feels like. We do our weed/poos in the toilet/potty. next time, tell me you want to wee/poo and I'll help you go to the toilet."

Get him to choose some undies (maybe some character ones) and tell him we want to keep undies/Thomas 'clean and dry'.

Let him see you/dh go to the toilet. Offer him to go as well. Keep it positive. Don't make him go if he doesn't want to, or make him sit until he goes.

Maybe choose a toilet training book - there are ones at bigW/Myer etc

    Good luck!
