    Hi Little Dove
I am just starting out on this journey and this thread has been really helpful too. There is a lot of learning along the way and it is a blessing to have input from those a few months ahead and those who have had success. I am currently meeting with FS/clinics re their different testing protocals and the earliest we could get going would be May. I am guessing you are overeast as in Perth you cannot proceed with batching if you have more than 2 embies on ice and have to seek reprod council approval. It is good that you have that option straight up although the waiting is tough going. What day does your clinic biopsy? Wishing you much strength during this time.

Default -Is-anyone-doing-aCGH testing a few questions

Hi scarlet hope you are well. Im not sure if you are still reading/posting however if you could spare a moment I would be most grateful. I had a question re dhea. I have recently been prescribed this my dhea and testosterone was very low (although specialist was indifferent whether to try or not) and wondered how much mgs and how long you were taking before you noticed a difference? I am likely to be cycling late may/ early June which would mean approx 10 weeks of exposure.
    Thanks again TT

TT Just read your other posts too.

I did not have to wait a month between cycles, I do not produce many eggs and my estrogen level never gets too high, so it was fine to go back to back. I only got one embryo for testing the first cycle and then the second I got 3, so 4 went to PGD.

It wasn't hard to get approved to batch but I was told that if I had more than 2 then they wouldn't do it.

I think other clinics are different, because of Genea's strict biopsy protocol most of what is biopsied is normal, so if you were to get 10 embryos for biopsy you would have too many frozen for their liking. Other clinics do day 3 testing or day 5 testing on any type of embryo and the chances of being normal are less. So you can have more for testing.

With the DHEA I was on 75mg a day, so 25mg 3x a day, first cycle I was on it for 12 weeks, then for second cycle I had been on it about 16 weeks at retrieval. My third cycle I only went back on it when I started my cycle, so about 2.5 weeks. I think it made a good difference for me.

I got it compounded at Oxford St Compounding in Leederville. It was really good stuff.

Thanks so much Scarlet for that feedback. Can see that later testing and hb only reduces no. for testing but if they make it that far a good chance there are normals. Re the dhea was it recommended for you and did they test your dhea/ testosterone beforehand? did you stay on it throughout or stop at a certain point?

    Thanks again for your time

The DHEA was recommended to me after my failed 3rd cycle, I had OK numbers but my quality was never good. Of those 3 cycles, we did PGD and only had 1 embryo suitable for transfer in all those cycles (ended in a chemical miscarriage)

I did it about 10 weeks before and right through cycle 1 and 2 at Genea cause I batched and with cycle 3, cause it was a last minute decision to do another cycle (as I did have embryos but thought it better to bank some for later) I only did it for about 3 weeks, but pretty sure the effects of cycle 1 and 2 were still in me.

Thanks Scarlet for that. Not sure if you remember but did you have any odd hormonal reactions to your usual cycle. This month had lower than usual estrogen levels and extremely high fsh mid cycle. Bit weirded out by that.
    Kind regards always

You mean a reaction to the DHEA? Not that I know of, but we didn't do any cycle monitoring before my cycles.

I generally got AF quite late after the first AF of a IVF cycle.

But my first FET was cancelled as we were trying to do natural and my levels were all over the place. Didn't even look close to ovulating day 20.

    Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to update quickly, but my Genea CGH baby girl was born last week and she is absolutely amazing and perfect. It was a long road, but CGH can work and was a much better way for us instead of putting back embryos assuming they were abnormal when it didn't work out.

Good luck everyone who is still on this journey, really hope it works out for you xoxo
