Scarlet- 6 eggs is perfect for quality over quantity , my 2nd stim I had 6 eggs collected & we got 3 good blasties. My 3rd stim (for CGH) I had 13 eggs and still ended up with 3 good blasties. All those extra eggs didn't translate into better embie numbers. Oh thats very sad about your friend getting the BFN , a shame the immune issues weren't found earlier. I've already had the advanced tests for clotting factors & auto-immunity. I do have high thyroid antibodies, but all else was clear. I'm taking clexane & prednisolone for the TWW, and if BFP, will keep going til 12 wks. Its still too early for HPTs so I'm not thinking about it now. However, once I hit 7-8dpt, I get HPT fever and always cave in... hoping I can stay strong this time!

    Hi all,

April - thinking of your three embies and hope you get the results soon. I am a Perth girl and pretty sure I am with the same clinic as you ( the only one that does CGH!) I am about a month ahead and my results came back bang on two weeks

Scarlet - Good Luck for EPU I hope you get lots of eggs and that they are all fighters to make it to blasty

Lindylou - when is your blood test? Fingers crossed for you. I had a mini melt down today and i've not even started this cycle

Felicita - I also agree CGH may cut out some good embies. I have done PGD with 3 day biopsy and got three balanced embryos but only two made it to day 5 and this time CGH with five biopsied and two good one unknown, so pretty much at the same place....

Hi to Wise, and anyone I've missed.

AFM- priming cycle this month as I tend to have a cr*p lining and my inlaws have been over. So my final scan last week I got to 9mm and the inexperienced nurse said 'OK you can transfer if you want' - Noooo that wasn't the plan. It was my unhealthy, downtime month. Long story short stuck with the plan had provera and waiting impatiently for AF to start my FET. Have a good feeling about this month....

Thanks scruffy and Lindylou, time will tell I suppose. I know everyone says lower quantity is better quality, but last time I had 6 fertilise and only one made it. This process is just so hard. But on the other hand I am not taking this cycle as bad emotionally, cause I know even if worse comes to worse I still have my one embryo, nothing can change that.

Lindy, great that you have had all that testing, I am sure you have nothing to worry about and your emby is snuggling in good now.

Scruffy, good luck with your FET next month, glad you stuck to your plan.

I will let you know how I go tomorrow and when EPU will be.

Just a quick update, we got 5 eggs, all mature at EPU, 4 fertilised and on day 3 all going well, 1- pre compacting, 3- 8 cell, all grade 1. For us though, day 3 to day 5 is the worst time.

Fingers crossed we get one or two to biopsy to add to my frozen one.

Lindy good luck with the BT tomorrow! Please let us know how you get one xoxo

    Anyone sick of waiting??

April - I hope you get your results soon Was just not in the frame of mind to put one in last month and in laws were here and we were down south so it would have meant interrupting our holiday and too many prying questions.

Lindy Lou - Is it blood test day tomorrow, I seem to have lost track (I know you won't have!) Please let us know how you get on

Scarlet - glad your embies are going strong and you get a couple to Day 5

    Hi everyone else...

AFM - just chewing down my oestrogen. First scan will be Friday Day 10. Does anyone know do they wait until Day 19 to put one back in (as they are 5 day embies) or just go when the lining is thick enough? I can't remember what they did last time!

Hey ladies, thanks for your kind words, I just hate this whole they have to make it to HB thing, I just wonder about which embryos may be normal and may not make it, mine just seem to grow way slow

Well good news, a good friend of mine just got her BFP on a cgh embryo, first try, so that makes me think this whole thing is worthwhile after all.

April good luck with the wait, I don't want to concern you but I was told that it could be up to 6 weeks, I think they just tell you that to cover themselves, but I really do hope you get the results sooner, please update us here when you get the news.

Scruffy, I don't know what practice you are with and if you having a medicated or non medicated FET, but my friend had a non medicated FET, once they determined when she ovulated they pt the embryo back in 5 days later.

    hey everyone,

Still trying to get my head around whose who, so if I get your history wrong I'm sorry. I'm on my iPhone so I can't look at the history as I type.

Scarlet- sending good strong vibes to your petri dish! Grow little embies, grow!! Hope they make it over the speed bump that is day 4.

Scruffy- so your in laws don't know what your doing? Hope AF arrives for you soon so you can get the party started.

April- sucks having to do 2 rounds of a 2 week wait! Hope the results come back quick and they're good.

Lindylou- been reading your diary. Loving all the research you've done!

Hi to everyone else. AFM I was hoping once I was able to do the testing (if anything makes it to blastie) I would transfer as soon as I could after that. But my donor doesn't want to go yet. I know they're my embryos and I don't need his permission but he's my best friend so I'd never go against his wishes. I just hate being in limbo! I want to try ASAP, but I guess I will have to twiddle my thumbs a while longer.

Wise, what a great best friend you have!! The inlaws do know about IVF but don't like anyone knowing exact dates etc as they will all be waiting for news I might not be ready to share...

Scarlet- Wow! Awesome fert rate and brilliant Day 3 results . Hope that on Day 5 you've got 4 super hatching blasts. Lovely to hear of your friend's BFP, I need something to give me hope right now.

April- I found the wait for results the hardest part for sure. I hope they're ready as early as possible for you.

Scruffy- With my medicated FET, lining was checked CD 12 (2 days late because I was overseas). On CD13, I dropped the oestrogen dose & started prog pessaries, then I had transfer on CD18. Good luck for Friday!

Wise- How lovely that your best friend agreed to be your donor! I hope he doesn't take too long to give the go-ahead. I think you're very brave attempting to have a small age gap between bubs! Research is what I do to ease the sting of BFNs... with 6 of them under my belt I'm quite well-read these days.

AFM- Thanks for asking after me, yes it was BT day today and I also did a POAS on Sun night (14dpo/9dpt). To my utter shock & horror the cycle has failed miserably. BFN . Yesterday was my pity party day, today I'm still upset but the worst is over now. Have booked a session with my FS on 19th April. Going to keep our 2nd CGH embie on ice til we work out what else to do with me...

Lindy I am so sorry hun, that is not fair. I really hope your FS has some answers. My friend who had the chemical, she had to go and get the immune testing done with a doctor that specialises in it, cause her FS (who is the same as mine) apparently does not believe in immune problems.

She had a whole lot of stuff out of whack and may even change FS's if hers won't treat her. There was also another girl I knew who had something wrong with her lining or something and had to take medication for 3 months before she did a FET and she got pregnant that time but M/C due to a chromosomal issue, so there are lots of things some FS don't even mention that could be going on.

April, the friend who used cgh, has one ovary and had IVF for her first children (twins) then IVF for the second had a miscarriage due to down's, so decided on cgh because of her age to make sure that what is being put back is chromosomally normal. Her M/C was late and it really took it's toll on her. Her only problem now is her Beta is so high (she only transferred 1) she is worried about twins again. So yes it can work.
