    Default Making a nappy cake?

    Hello,

My sister in law just had a little boy yesterday and I wanted to know the sex before I made her a present. I was going to make her boys name for the babies room but decided to try my hand at a nappy cake. Can anyone give me any tips or advice for making one and give me an approx cost of how much it will be? Also what do I use for a base?

    Thanks for reading!

I had one from my friends for DD. The base was a blank canvas - you know the type you can pick up in Red Dot or any cheapy shop, wrapped in a muslin wrap. I used the wrap and used the canvas for DD's hand and foot prints (it hangs in her room now). Then the nappies were individually tied in elastic bands, about 3 layers if I recall of Huggies newborns, and stacked to form the cake and on the top was a little soft toy. I think they may have wrapped little gro suits every now and agan as substitutes for the nappies. It was all wrapped in that clear cellophene stuff. Good luck - it was a beautiful gift to receive and even more special when I found out my 2 friends had done it themselves.
