Even if a new thread is started, if you give your pov on evolution I think it would stay civil and be an interesting thread.
But if you write what you think of 'people who don't believe in evolution' don't you think it'll offend and cause conflict?
Of course you can ask honestly

I think the consequences of science denial are huge and impact everyone in society. As a member of society, this affects me and it affects my children.

People who deny evolution are undermining the proper teaching of biology in our schools. They are undermining anthropology, geology and molecular biology - all of these sciences provide humans with a deeper and more complex understanding of life.

Denial of evolution means denial of the evolution of bacteria and viruses - which directly affects me. Creationists have worked in areas where their beliefs have caused serious harm to humans (think of Dr. Leonard L Bailey, whose rejection of evolution possibly caused the death of his patient, baby Fae).

I have an opinion about people who affect me and who cause harm or have the potential to cause harm to humans. Everyone does.

Please elaborate on why you think that about Leonard Bailey?

Disappointed to see what happened to the other thread

I hope we can keep discussing things here in a way that doesn't get the thread shut down.

I apologise if it was my actions that got the other thread closed.

I will attempt to word my posts differently in the future.

I don't think it was. I think it just got a little heated, and someone coming in to laugh at the conversation didn't help matters.

It is hard, but I think for the most part it was a very civilised debate!

It was not your actions or the wording of your posts. I think you sounded respectful and genuinely interested

I love, love, love discussing evolution and I had just spent no less than 30 mins responding to a post in there, clicked reply and it said 'thread closed'! Anyway, it just shows I shouldn't spend so much time getting caught up in discussions on here!
