Default Re: Anyone in North Queensland?

Amps I cannot believe what the nurse at qfg said. Seriously these people need to remember what's going on here! If u don't get a better offer to meet for lunch on Fri I could meet during my break at work at Stockland shopping centre. Text if u want to catch up.

Sunny-good idea. Bide your time. The list of Pros is longer than the cons.

Bella- you sound strong and positive. There's no stopping you girl!

Blue- hope you're enjoying your holiday. You deserve it. Who knows what might happen on holiday eh?

To all the other ladies who drop in from time to time, how's it going?

Afm- had a smooth transfer on Friday. The lonely last embie thawed and the grade wasn't compromised. Dr L used embryo glue. All was good except in true cfc slackness they were running over an hr late (luckily I paid no attention to the bladder protocol, started drinking when I got there and didn't move my acu appt) and the shocker of it all was the further 1.5 hrs we waited AFTER transfer. Dh and I were waiting so long for the final nurse to come out and release us, finally when she did (to tell me in 30 seconds what I already knew) she said nobody had informed her we were ready. Far out, I'm so glad this is my final transfer with them. They never fail to p me off.

Hi all, I am in Townsville. We found out two weeks ago my hubby has low sperm motility so we will be doing IVF in approx 2 months time. I am with Dr Steve Morcheski (?) he does Monash IVF here in Townsville. I went with Dr Steve because he was my specialist before when I had Cervical Cancer so we have a very long history . Does anyone else on here use him or Monash? BTW I absolutely am bad at the acronyms on here. I can guess a few though. I am absolutely loving this forum and have found the support and advise that I needed as I really haven't been getting any support (absolutely zero) of other people in my life as in my fertile friends and family so I have had to cut a lot of them off (for the mean time) As it was just upsetting me too much so I decided that I really don't need that kind of negativity prior to IVF and I am feeling so much better because I have made that decision. Anyway nice to meet you all and good luck in all your journeys

Sharlee32 - Hi and welcome....we are a very supportive bunch. I am in Cairns, so I dont have any knowledge in Townsville clinics. There is an acronyms explanation post and can be found on Forum/Introductions & Useful Site Info & Intros/Useful Site Info/Acronums & Abbreviations. Feel free to post any questions and we all do our best in sharing information and experiences.

Amps - Oh hun, things just dont seem to go smooth for you, do they?! I cant believe the nurse said those things to you....how totally inappropriate and insensitive....there is always a way of giving feedback, but thats not the way!! Unfortunately I dont have any pearls of wisdom on how to not let these types of things upset you....I have faced my fair share of frustrations and I guess I always deal with it the same way, which is at my age I cant afford to let these things get to me...I just have to shake it off and get on with the job...as much as my age has got me into this situation, I do call on my age to pull me out of any negativity.

    Everyone.

Sharlee - sorry but don't know any of the clinics in townsville either. Welcome and here's hoping your ivf journey is short.

Well ladies, things went pear-shaped for me again. Af acutally arrived in full force about 4am today, not 9 days ago. Not sure what that spotting was about but Dr M not concerned about it. I went to the clinic today after dropping dh at the airport. First off I was told I would have to come back at 1:30pm, ok fair enough, but when I asked about how to lodge a complaint, I got attitude from one receptionist at first, assistance from the 2nd, then the first 1 had a change of thought and managed to slip me in with Dr M. Go figure??? Nurses tried to tell him they were booked until later but he insisted I was seen there and then. I was out in under 5 minutes. The nurse who upset me on the phone the other day was totally different in person.
So, no scan tomorrow now. My day1 is today and I start progynova tomorrow, gradually increasing dose until day12 scan on Monday 11th March. We will be transferring our remaining 2 embryos all going well, so not looking forward to the progesterone pressary support. I wish there was an injection or something instead.

Dh has decided he had better pick his game up and be more supportive. just because it's not his body, doesn't mean he's not part of it.

    Hi everyone

Sorry have been stalking for a while. Just wanted to say hi to Amps and say I might have been part of the reason for the QFG issues today.

I'm currently 16 weeks pg after too many cycles. Have been with QFG (in both Cairns and Toowoomba) for the last 8 years. Have certainly had my ups and downs but have found them all to be very good. There are a few quirks, but I've gotten use to them.

This morning I had a massive bleed (sorry TMI - but so much so I had borrow one of the guys from works gym shorts to change into just to get out of the office). I should be with Dr Wright by now, but he wasn't available. Dr M saw me immediately, so apologies to those in the waiting room that I queue jumped. They were all wonderful and literally dropped everything to help me out.

All still good with a wriggly baby on the screen wondering what the fuss was about. At home resting with the comforting news that it might happen again (this was about the 8th time so far, but by far the worst).

Anyway, the point of jumping on was to say, I've now seen a different side and really appreciate that the times I have had to wait may well have been because of someone in serious distress like I was.

I wish everyone on this thread the best of luck. I really had given up hope and this was to be our last cycle (I already had the brochures out for a holiday to the US). Had EPU in Cairns and transfer with Dr Warren in Brisbane, where he told me I had about a 1% chance and should go and have a drink that night (which I did). He was absolutely fabulous and for those considering seeing him - do it. Dr M and Dr W are now 'fighting' over who should claim this success.

Bella - How did you go with the clinic hun?

Flaussie - Whats doing?? Where abouts are you upto?

Amps - my heart just goes out to you everytime you post....you have the most worst luck. Glad you got in to see Dr M...back on the IVF train...keep us posted. Sending you good vibes hun.

DJNette - Good to hear from you and welcome. Goodness what a fright you must have had. Glad everything is okay. You have a lovely story (beside the bleed of course)....what do you think made the difference in your last cycle to get your much waited for BFP? I would be interested to know if there was anything dramatically different.

MusicalGal - How is the 2WW going? Bury in little one!

    Blue -

    AFM
DP and I have decided 100% on our donor and now just waiting for the paperwork. Excited!!!

    Hi ladies.

Wow nette- that is indeed a good news story. We've just transferred our last embryo too so I hope our story is the same!

Amps-you just can't catch a break can you. Seems u have to fight for every single thing. Hang in there mate. And welcome back to the world of pessaries!

Speaking of, I reckon I could forget we were in the middle of a cycle and 2ww if it wasn't for blasted pessaries. I'm on 5 per day now! 2prog and 3 combo. Not to mention the myriad of tablets. I figured out today that I actually do more pessaries than eat per day! There's gotta be an 'I hate pessaries' thread on this site somewhere. I'm off to find it. ..

    Good luck everybody xxx
