I s'pose its better than a flat out bfn. There is a slight chance we might still get our baby this time. Our first ivf cycle we got a hcg of 11 which dropped to 6 at the next bt 3 days later. I'm in bed doing nothing but hoping.......
the embryologist explained where our missing "embryo" went so all is good

Amps– I have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow. I do wonder though if CFC test too early after the last pregnyl shot – it has been mentioned to me on another thread that they test too early…it has happened to me twice and now you are the third person I know going through the same thing. My first time my hcg was 13 and then at my test a couple of days later it was 6. The second time it was 12 and then 6. I must admit, it kind of lessens the blow asopposed to a flat out BFN, but it is still stressful to go through. But on the other hand, someone on the IVF Over 40 thread had a hcg of 17 at blood test (and that was with twins although one did not survive in following weeks) and she is now holding her daughter….so dont give up hope. Glad to hear they ‘found’ your missing embie….which nurse has transferred? Is DH at home at the moment – my DP goes back to the mine tomorrow morning.

Bellavista– congratulations on being PUPO. Did you have 2 embies put back? That is a great fertility report…did they try to take any of the embryos to blastie or freeze at day 3?

Tropical Bub – Cancelled cycles are the pits….I actually hate them just about as much as a BFN, if not more. Did you decide to go with another OI or go for the ‘big guns’? I was 44 when I started this journey, so my age and DPs reduced morphology lead us straight into IVF/ICSI. It is definitely worth exploring the financial side of things for both and then discuss the odds of success with FS, taking into consideration your cancelled cycle (is it likely to occur again etc etc).

Shazzymoo– How are you? Did you decide to go with a clinic in Cairns or Brisbane?

Kahu– Hi, hope all goes well with you.

FS is waiting on the follow up letter from the specialist I went to see about my low positive ANA before he will give me my protocol for my next FET. However, he has already suggested that I will be doing the same protocol as the last FET, which I think he has forgotten will be the same as the last 2 FETs. DP and I are not prepared to do another FET with the same protocol….I think if the same effort goes in, the same result comes out. Plus I only have 2 embryos left from donor eggs and I am so very scared to use them on ‘wasted’ cycles…they are so very precious to us….donor eggs are not easy to come by. We have decided that if FS suggests the same protocol, we will seek a second opinion from the other FS at the clinic who is based in Perth, but does consults here in Cairns. I find my current FS is very conservative and that has its place, but I am 47, I don’t have time on my side…I need an aggressive approach. My body is still firing on all guns to support a pregnancy, I just have old eggs…but how long will my body still be firing on all guns!!

In the meantime, I continue to see Kerry…she has me on herbs, wuji, l-arginine,vit E etc. Trying to lose some weight as I have put on about 10 kilos during my time with IVF….steriods, human growthhormone etc.

At home with a cold....day time tv is pathetic!!!

Sunny15- I don't think cfc does bt too early, I know that betahcg is different to hcg, pregnyl shots are hcg which is how you get false positives on hpts as they work on hcg, not betahcg. My results are betahcg 13. I would've been due for my period yesterday if I wasn't doing IVF. At least we know we are getting close.
We've decided to insist on transferring our remaining 2 embryos together if we don't have success now. If our fs won't change protocol(I want much more support meds before during and after) we will be consulting with the head guy too. We will do 1 more full stimulated cycle if needed but we want the head guy to advise on the protocol. I think we are going through similar to you. I know there are risks but screw that, we want a baby and we will do whatever we have to so that can happen.
Maureen has left. I nearly cried.
My dh flies out tomorrow morning too. He works at Cannington near Mt Isa, where does your dh work?? Maybe we've passed at the airport.

Hi Amps - sorry, in my last post I should have said betahcg instead of hcg. My DP works at George Fisher...1 week on 1 week off...he does a week of days and then a week of nights. I will be dropping him off at the airport about 5.30am in the morning. What shifts does yours do?

Hi Bellavista - Ooh, hopefully the localised cramping is implantation....bury in little ones!

I dissolve the L-Arginine in a bit of water and slam it back and then follow with an anything chaser to get rid of the taste....but believe it or not, I have had to take far worse stuff over the years.

I agree with Kerry....I think we all know the difference between "I need a rest/recouperation" and "I cant be bothered to exercise". We all know our bodies the best, so if it is telling us to rest instead of exerting, then Im a firm beliver in listening to our bodies. This process is hard enough on the mind and body without stressing it further.

Take care....stay positive (not easy I know).

Sunny15- Dh does 1 week on 1 week off but does 2 shifts of nights then 1 of days, I drop him off by 9:30am, his flight day is changing soon to Thursdays, oh the joys of having a dh who works away. I'm glad we are fortunate where I don't have to work so having part-time job I can be home when dh is home.

Bellavista- so hoping everything is going well for you and you get a good strong sticky

Amps - How are you? Been thinking of you.

Bellavista - How is the 2WW going for you....any more aches, pains, twinges?

    AFM
FS confirmed that he will do the same protocol as my last two FETs. Going to seek a second opinion.

    Hi Sunny

I am sorry to hear that your FS isn't willing to try another protocol. After my previous rants about qfg here I finally think they are working with me not me fitting into them. I told them I require more flexible options and i want happy to repeat the same protocol and get only 3 eggs again and they are delivering finally and I am really happy now with the direction we are going. So after all the initial teething problems I am a happy customer will be happier when we get a BFP though. We did get 5 eggs this 2 nd cycle two more then last and we have now both times had 100% fert rate so something is working there.

Afm tww is painfully slow as always. Lots of niggles cramps twinges etc yesterday and today particularly no heavy full feeling of impending Af doom and gloom. My last syneral injection today so might probably if I am game poas Tuesday 31/5!!! So scared!

Kahu Shazzy hi hope your all well x
