    Hey all,
Amps, it was lovely to meet you yesterday. Hope the phone call today is a good one. My thoughts are with you. Keep yourself distracted in the meantime.

My appt was as we expected for my first check in with my first cycle of OI. Lining is 5mm (not as much as we'd like) and have some small follicles but no visible egg as yet. My Tamoxifen is now finished and I'm doing low dose Puregon inj over the weekend and back in for bloods Tuesday morning.

    Hi Ladies

Tropical Bub: It was nice to meet you too. Hope everything goes well for you. I'd get onto that Raspberry leaf te, I believe it worked for me for my thin lining

Bellavista: You have been through so much, don't let anyone even family let you feel bad about any of this. You deserve your chance at a family however that may happen. We all do. My dh has pretty well stopped talking to a lot of his family as they have chosen to be not very nice people. He tells me he has all the family he needs right here. For a big burly country man he really is a big softie. Just remember we are all here for you.

Sunny15: Haha! I had your comment pop into may head when I was lying on the op table yesterday I saw our Buff embryologist in the room too.

afm: weel the clinic rang ealier and its not as good as I hoped. I was pretty bummed but I'm ok with it now. Out of our 6 eggs, 3 are travelling well, 2 are slow and may not make it and the last is physco fast, which means if it doesn't slow down then its probably abnormal. Because we only have 3 "good" ones at the moment they want to do a 3day transfer, if we had more then we would go for 5day. So I'm booked in for monday morning 7th May. Who knows, we may get some 5day blastys to freeze. Have to wait and see. This may sound a bit silly, but I am telling myself I am pregnant right now, I mean if this was natural I would be. Because I will be having 4 pregnyl injections spaced out, I won't be able to poas, so i will have to wait for my bt on 21st May. I've asked if I can see the embryo before we implant and that should be ok. My dh will be home too so he will be in there with me even though I am getting sedated. He flys back to work on wednesday, so if we transferred then he wouldn't get to see it. I'm feeling pretty happy with everything really.

    for everyone!

Amps: Fingers crossed all 3 do very well!! That’s a great idea to think that you are pregnant already! anything to keep the positive thoughts. Like I’ve said before, i did lots of silly things like i had my fertility crystals that i carried in my bra!! my Dh thought i was silly, oh well what ever keeps your mind in a better place, rather than stressing. A buff Embryologist hey?? i think i might have to change to CFC! But i do like Michelle at QFG, she was lovely when i had my EPU. I had never been under general, and she held my hand and talked to me while the dr was knocking me out

Tropical Bub: Isnt it crazy how much you learn about your body when you are taking the IVF train.... I was put on L Argine (most horrible stuff EVER) by my acupuncturist to thicken my lining. I was 8 mm at my first scan and i have no idea how thick it was at ET. Like Amps said, get onto that the raspberry leaf tea. i have heard good things about it, also it might give you peace of mind that you are doing something positive. Also i highly recommend visualizations every day. Apparently there has been studies done on women, they were put in a CT Scanner or MRI and when a lady was played a fertility visualizations, blood was seen in the uterus which is what helps develop the lining and when the emby has been transferred, it helps it attach to the wall. It can only help

Bella: im sorry to hear about your loss. I hope with telling your family eases the stress for you guys. I hope they are supportive. I don’t think i could of done it without the help from my mum and my sisters. My dad is whole different story. My Dh family, well they live in NZ and we don’t have a great deal to do with them. I will be thinking of you today when telling your dh family, i hope it goes well. otherwise, i hope you are resting heaps, because you ARE doing a very important job right now!!! growing your precious little follies and eggs. Think positive and focus on making those 3 you have to grow into big healthy eggs for the EP! you never know, like i said i only had 3 too ( but i know what you mean about been told you will get more. i was shattered after my EP) Best of luck with on the 15, i will be thinking of you PS, i wish i could be more motivated like you!! Running and Boot camp!!! good on you! the best i can do is walk my retarded dog! i need to wear a special vest that says im with a special needs dog!!!!

    Sunny: Not much longer now!!!

    everyone else!!

Tropical Bub– My lining also tends to be on the thinner side and usually just makes it to8mm by transfer day. Ask FS aboutVitamin E (in particular, d-alpha-tocopherol)….we have the same FS and he advisedme to take it. Do you go toacupuncture? If not, it is probablysomething you need to get on too….it appears that most of us go to Kerri Adams….Iwould be lost without her. Choose anacupuncturist that specialises in fertility/IVF support. Good luck for BT on Tuesday.

Amps – Congratulations…yourfert report is still good. Yes, it isdisappointing especially when we are pinning our hopes on a 100% fertrate. 3 good ones and 2 slow pokes maystill turn out to be an excellent haul for this cycle. Don’t give up hope for the slow pokes…theymay just surprise you! What time is ETtomorrow morning?

    AFM
What abeautiful day here today.…going for a friends b/day drinks down at Salthouse, which undoubtedly will end up at the 2 for 1 Sunday session at the pier. DP has offered to be taxi….yay!

    Happy longweekend everyone.

    Hi Ladies

Sunny15: My transfer is at 9am, have to be there by 8:30, but will be in Cairns by 7:30 for acupuncture. My dh doesn't really want to be in there with me when its done as I will be sedated and he thinks it will be weird watching while someone else has their hands up my wahoo while I'm out to it. I've told him he has to be in there so I know it was done for sure.

    Hi Ladies

Sunny15: We had 1 3day grade3 12 cell morula transferred today and 1 more frozen. They are keeping an eye on the other 4 until wednesday in the hopes they make it to blastocyst and are able to freeze(which they aren't today). We got to see our little one under the microscope, was pretty cool. Had acupuncture before and after. Feeling pretty buggered now but can't sleep. It was funny being in theatre practically buck naked with my socks on.
    It's official, I'm now pupo!!!

I'm going to relax over the next few days, but I have to go back to Cairns 2 more times this week. Wednesday to drop dh off at airport for work and Friday to go to clinic for bt. My final bt is on the 21st.

Hope you are all well and not stressing too much

    Hi

Amps - My fingers are crossed for your BT on the 21st and I hope the next few weeks pass without too much stress or worry.

Kahu & Sunny – Thanks for your kind words.

Tropical Bub – How are you travelling through? I found it all so daunting the first time, I felt lost an awful lot.

AFM – I am well rested after a very lazy long weekend. Spent a few hours running, going to the beach, baking, a lot of sleeping. Wow the Synarel and Gonal F combined really knock me. I can barely keep my eyes open most days then wouldn’t you believe I can’t sleep all night despite the fact I have kept myself awake all day!! What to do ?
We told my DH family and they were good. A bit pushy for information and insisting of giving us a big spiel and questioning us when I wanted to tell them this is still a really private and personal journey for me and there is a number of areas I just am not up to speaking so openly about. Finally my DH’s Mums husband told her to stop and let me speak and I croaked it out and went outside for some deep breathing. I printed a lot of information sheets about what we are going through and support sheets specific for families of couples going through IVF. A number of them address coping with pregnant family member’s so possibly this may stop the constant chatter and updates about my pregnant SIL.

Today I had bloods done, at 2.45pm I have US and I have officially lost my mind… I left early to go get the Bloods done and got into town to find I didn’t bring the path request form, go back home, back to town get bloods done but before I leave to do that I do my Gonal F dial up the 150iui, swab stick press hmmmm the last 75 aren’t coming out why not… take it out wiggle the dial back and forth stick again like a champion and realise it won’t work because its empty…. So I am now sitting here thinking 900iui divide by 150 is 6… I started injecting Wednesday, so that is Wednesday 1, Thursday 2, Friday 3, Saturday 4, Sunday 5, Monday 6, so my last one should have been yesterday and today get a new pen So I have messed it all up somehow I thought I was checking thoroughly each morning that I had dialled up the pen to 150 I am so confused. Have I totally screwed up? How did I even have any this morning.. OMG. I am normally so organisaed and prepared. Today I cried at the Path place when I realised I didn’t have the request form with me sobbed in the car… I constantly feel sick waves of nausea, hot, sweaty and flushes of warmth all day all night. My stomach is aching.

I apologise for my woe is me moment I feel like sucha moron for getting the gonal pen all screwed up

tell me I haven't screwed this cycle up

Bellavista: Oh dear lady, take a deep breathe, let it out slowly, everything is going to be alright. If you have any worries, call your fn, thats what they are there for, if you are really stressing, take all your info about what you have done in to the clinic with you and speak to them in person, I'm sure they will sort it out and all will be fine. Believe me when I say you have NOT stuffed up this cycle. I kept a a notepad with my pen with calculation of what was left in pen after each dose. I would've totally screwed it up without it.
