Default Can BF cause nasal congestion for bubs??

So I took DS to an ENT on Tuesday because since 5-6mths old he has suffered from nasal congestion (sometimes very sever), he does have enlarged adenoids but nothing that would warrant surgery etc. The ENT said the congestion could have been caused by the hormones I was transferring to him while BF?
I have thought about this a lot since, yes DS nasal congestion has stopped since just after Christmas when I finished BF him but it leads me to the question of why did it start at 5mths then and not from birth.
DS has had really bad congestion and runny nose as of yesterday (isn't it always the way) so the ENT didn't see him while with the congestion, I suspect that it has been caused by the yoghurt I gave him Tuesday night (I also stopped giving him yoghurt for a while to see if that was the cause), I have started giving him cows milk of a morning but that doesn't appear to have the same effect.
So has anyone else got any in site into the ENT's speculation that it was my milk that was giving him the congestion.
    Any advice is welcomed.

Sounds like a very stupid explanation to me!

As you say - why did it not start til 5 months, and what about all the other breastfed babies. What an idiot.

The other evidence based information I know about ENT and breastfeeding is that breastfed babies have less ear infections, something to do about the way they suck or something.

    Thanks Em
The more I think about it the less I trust this specialist advice, (very expensive advice too ), I photo copied the doctors referral so I'll think about taking him to another ENT, I'll see how this grotty nose clears up first, if it takes a couple of weeks again I'll take him.
