    Default Medela Swing pump

    Hi ladies

I have a medela swing pump & used it quite a bit with my son. I have since lent it to two friends and may lend it to a third, meaning it will have been used for about 12-18 months straight.

I'm worried the motor might die out before I have another baby and use it again.

Has anyone used the medela swing? Did the motor last a long time?

Mine lasted only 5 months of using it during my lunch break at work. It was still under warranty so the company replaced it.

The good thing is you can replace certain parts, not the whole system too

    Thanks Bexta.
Yeh it's good that the individual parts can be purchased quite cheaply. It's just the motor I'm worried about

I'm not sure about your question, but I'm fairly certain that the swing doesn't have a closed system and so it's a single-user pump. I'd be double checking that before using it again, now that other people have used it.

I used my Medela Swing pretty frequently for about 12 months and I think the motor might be dying. It seems ok when connected to mains, but when battery operated it's just not sucking like it used to. It's also starting to cut out randomly sometimes. It's a bit annoying actually - I thought it would last much longer.
