Default Can I deliver at SJOG Murdoch with a GP, if so any recommendations?

I am pregnant with baby #3 and had my previous two at SJOG Bunbury with a obstetric GP. I want to have this baby at SJOG Murdoch but they only list specialists on their website.

I live 4hrs from Perth (with no hospital) and think this time around Perth will be easier come due date as we have a unit in East Vic Park which will make our stay away from home easier with the kids than bunking with relatives. We have full private cover but I see no need for a specialist OB/GYN as my previous two pregnancies were non-complicated.

Does anyone have any reviews or recommendations about how I go about finding a GP that delivers at Murdoch?

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can. I think it's only in the country that you see a GP trained in obstetrics.

Plus, pretty sure SJOG is private, so I think you would have to book in with one of their OB's.

But like I said, I could be wrong, so maybe call and ask them what the deal is.

I just know that I am country based and see an obstetrics trained GP, but all my city friends have been referred to OB's after they get their positive. I think there is a different system between the country and city based on what the local country hospital can handle.

I am pretty sure there are gp obs who deliver at attadale. Maybe you could try phoning the maternity ward?

You might be able to do shared care with a local doc and an ob who delivers there?
