    Default Ovarian Cysts

I recently got an ultra sound done to see what was wrong with me as I have only had my period a couple times in the past two years, the results came back that I have large cysts on both overies. My Doctor told me that I have to wait three months then I have to go back and get another ultra sound to see if they have gone. She also sent a referral away to Gyno and that takes about another three months to even get in. I was wondering if anyone knows of Natural remedies to getting rid of them. I've heard vitex helps but not sure. I'm hoping someone knows of a good cleanse. I really want to start my family this year and this is a set back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks.

    Hi
I'm one of those unlucky ones that have experienced wat ur going thru... Although I'm concerned they've told u 3months! Wen I had a cyst on one ovary I was being prepared for surgery within 5days! (afta a 2nd opinion it showed it was breaking down n i didnt need the surgery) Where r u? If ur around Bris/gold coast I can give u the name of an AMAZING Gyno to ask to b referred to...
But as a chronic PCOS sufferer (sadly it got to the point that I knew wen I had a cyst just by moving the wrong way)... My Gyno is one of the top in Oz n he even said that there isn't much anyone can do to prevent it... The best prevention is the pill.. N if ur TTC then that's the last thing u want to go on!
Another cleanse I've heard about is going completely vego for a while... I haven't personally tried it... But a friend is doing it atm.

Go get a 2nd opinion... I really don't like the 3month rubbish... Coz they said to me that wen a cyst is on an ovary they do a follow up in a week to check on it... Coz u have to be careful that they don't wrap around the ovary.. Coz that can kill the ovary (I'm sorry I'm not trying to scare u... Just explain y I think it's important to go see someone else). Could they see the condition of ur ovaries??? If they could then that's great! If not demand a 2nd opinion.

Cysts don't automatically mean u can't conceive either hun a girl I knew many yrs ago had a cyst during her preg.. And even had to hav it removed... And the baby survived

I'll happily answer any other questions etc u may have

    Good luck with TTC

WTF they can kill my overies? Are you serious? No one told me that, I thought I had cysts before the results came back but no one told me it could be serious like that. All I know is she said she couldn't see it properly because it was an external but it was showing a large cyst on each overy and she didn't think it's PCOS because i don't have the other symtoms and I just need to wait three months and see if it's moved.I thought the three month thing was a little weird, I assumed she'd order another ultra sound or something, this time internal. But she didn't. After I told her I wanted to try and have a baby this year through a clinic she then told me I should see a gyno. So i could have my body ready when I do. I don't like the three month thing either, I want to find a private female Gyno in Melbourne that's not in the city. I've heard they are really expensive though. 3 months is just too long to wait, i want to get it rolling now.

I don't eat much meat as it is, but am going to change my diet to see if it helps. I have been searching and people say that there's cleanses you can do but can't find anything on it except those sites that say Are you tired of being in pain blah blah well we have the perfect cleanse for you. You know those ones lol. I'm going to excersize more too. I am a little over weight but don't have any of the other symptoms, I don't get pain ect from the cysts. I do get what feels like normal period pain, the one you get right before your period that lets you know to prepare cause they are coming.

Just so confused, tired of being stuffed around by doctors. I was on primulet for something like 7 years when you aren't meant to use it that long, doctors didn't really question it and just kept giving it to me. I only found out when I moved to melbourne years ago that I wasn't meant to be on it that long and was given the pill.

I hope this hasn't ruined my chances for a baby. I don't know what I'll do if I can't have one. And I don't have 1000's upon 1000's to go to a clinic and not walk away pregnant.

    Sorry about the rant.

I would get a second opinion. I have PCOS but you can also JUST have poly cystic ovaries, not the syndrome. The only natural way I know of to help is by diet and exercise. If overweight then losing weight can really help reduce the size of cysts and amount of follicles.
I've been trying to do this as DF and I are TTC at the moment but because of the insulin resistance I'm not doing very well so my GYN is putting me on metformin for weightloss and to help ovulation.
Definitely seek a second opinion I think, were you even given any blood tests?
Also cysts don't necessarily mean infertility or IVF so please don't panic. There's lots of treatment available these days

Please don't stress... That's a worst case scenario... If it was twisted around them I'm sure ud be in major pain!!! But that's wat I was told.... Purely coz it cuts everything off to it

Going to a Gyno shouldn't cost u a fortune from wat I've seen on other postings that it's about 270ish for first appt. then down to like 70 afta...n u get back from Medicare... My guy was exy coz he's so well known ($500 first visit)... But he was also my 2nd opinion given the first Gyno I saw at the hospital told me I needed to b operated on ASAP n gave me the 50/50 chance (which the 2nd guy sed was extremely high).

I had internals to find mine..even tho it was 15cm long. N a Gyno will typically do their own internal. If ur not happy thou go back coz peace of mind is everything even go to a diff doc if ur not happy with what they are saying.

I'm sure u'll be fine... My 15cm one broke itself down over 3wks...which is again y I think 3months is a stupidly high timeframe... N remember not to stress!!!! Ur body WILL tell u if theres something wrong going on...

Lemme know how u go with it

    Good luck! <3

Just popping in to share my story too... I had an internal and external ultrasound and was also diagnosed with Polycystic ovaries. I have multiple cysts in each ovary, not just one large one.
They did no further follow ups or anything, it was just into metformin for the insulin resistance (which my blood tests don't show I have, but my body responds to it) and now on to a fertility specialist to try and conceive and my cycles are still longer and sometimes I don't ovulate.

Perhaps it would be worth seeing another GP first for another opinion? It may mean another ultrasound, but I you express you concern about it then I am sure they will try and help. I wouldn't imagine they would get a very good look at your ovaries from just an external?
I think it all depends on if you have a large single cyst, that might need to be removed, or many smaller ones, which generally don't. Also, if it is possible that it is polycystic ovaries (many cysts) then a blood test should be done to rule out other things like insulin resistance.

Either way, if you are worried I would see another opinion first.
