Default Vertigo is interupting my life!

Help does anyone know of a treatment for vertigo that works?
I have been getting vertigo for many years but now it is as often as once a month or more and it is really starting to interfere with my daily life. I can't go shopping or drive a car or even do the housework as I am too dizzy and I am just about to go back to work and I am worried i will not be able to.
Also to those who suffer from it ,how were you diagnosed as to what type of vertigo you have? I have been hospitalised from it and seen quite a few doctors and been given guess diagnoses of vestibular disease, labyrinthis and a few others but never something accurate or any follow up treatment.

I have a drawer full of anti nausia medication as thats all they seem to give me. I went to the doctors this morn and got a referal to an ear, nose throat specialist so hopefully I am closer to a diagnosis. I was fine this morn til the doc got me to do a few tests and now I am dizzy again.
