Baby Carriers

I already have a breeze baby sling which DS loves but I find that after awhile my shoulder starts to get a little sore.

I have been looking at baby carriers and wondering what others recommend.

I am having back issues at the moment too, so looking for a carrier that doesn't place extra weight on my back.

I like the look of the Ergo and have heard good things. My friend just got a Baby Bjorn but I have read that having baby facing outwards is bad for their hips/legs..is this true?

Any advice/recommendations appreciated.

I was sceptical of all the Ergo hype... But then I got one secondhand and *love* it!! Wish I had it from the start! Distributes weight well and is very comfortable. It also holds the baby's legs in the M position (knees higher than bum), which is much better ergonomically than the Bjorn.

I love my ergo - it is really comfortable and DD feels like she is comfy too, she is old enough to tell me so. Others have raved about their Manduka (????) carriers ehich like the ergo, put more of the weight through your hips, rather than your back.

I'd say Ergo if you have back problems it should be a good choice loved mine.

Beco Butterly II its like an ergo but prettier.
And hug a bubs are good for small bubbies

Avoid the Baby Bjorn as it is bad for bubs hips and legs. Also it is very uncomfortable for the wearer as you can only wear bub on the front (most people stop using them quickly). And is very expensive for such a limited carrier!!!

I love my Beco Butterfly 2. I find it fits better than an Ergo and is by far the easiest carrier to put bub on you back!!!!
I have also heard great things about the Manducca (again similar to the Ergo) as it is very adjustable!!!!

I had a baby bjorn and it was horrible!! It hurt my shoulders and DD never looked right in it! I never really tried anything else though sorry.

Wow, those becos are gorgeous! Do they have a head cover for when bub is sleeping. If not, then I reckon a Maducca or Ergo is the way to go. I personally prefer the ergo but I suspect that is because it's what I'm more used to. Fantastic carriers for both the wearer and bub. Baby Bjorne are awful and I suspect that they're only popular because people aren't aware of better options

Ring slings are only good for a short time, I feel your pain. I use a maya RS for school drop offs and find it a little bit better as it has the padded shoulder. Otherwise I use a wrap. Sold the ergo to fund them as wrapping leaves no pressure points at all.
