There's a school around from me that has music, then a bell.

DS1's School has music instead of a bell. It seems to be the same each morning but I can't for the life of me think what the song is.

i wish our school had music instead of a bell.

the bell is so offensive to the senses. my little boy has a panic attack every time it goes off. >_<

DD1's school has music and a bell. If they can't get any music on then you get the bell but it can be anything from Don't worry, be happy, to Grease lightning.
They also have dedicated songs for incase of emergencies. One for in case of fire (beds are burning) and one for a lockdown (read that on the back of the staff toilet at orientation...freaked me right out!)
The bell is so loud and offensive, the music is much nicer!

i find the idea of music instead of a bell weirdddddddddd

i went to a private unisex anglican high school and there were no bells. you were expected to keep track of time for yourself, as were teachers. classrooms had clocks, of course. it worked. the school right next door was a primary school, they had bells. and a completely different schedule from us. it was a bit off-putting lol

Here in SA we have this long, loud irritating bell.

But last yr when we were in VIC it was music, followed by three pleasant sounding beeps. Soooo much nicer!

I am a teacher at a high school and we have a warning bell and THEN music 2min before the final bell to let the students know that the final bell is about to ring.
EG: 1.25pm Warning bell (Move your butts to your lockers to collect books etc)
    1.28pm MUSIC
1.30pm Final bell (students should be in class)
