We'd like to make a slideshow of these cakes. If you'd like yours to be included could you email a pic to editor @ bubhub. com .au (without the spaces).

Or if you've pasted your pic in here and don't mind us copying it for the slideshow can you reply to say which one it is etc so we can?

    Thanks!!
I do not mind at all if you want to include my toadstool cake!

You chicks are all so awesome! Takes me back to when I was little and Mum baked stuff from the Aus Women's Weekly book of birthday cakes. I do remember making my own giant horse head cake when I was about ten; Mum had given up by then! She never was much of a chef, but I really did appreciate her efforts...

Congratulations to all of you for your fine, super-creative efforts.

Can't wait till the little fella is one so I can join in. Hang on, he's 8mo exactly today. Do you think that could warrant a creative cake-baking effort?

Great cakes!!! Those using fondant... How do you get the coloring right? / What type of colors do you use? I can get pastel colors with food dye, I bought a brown fondant coloring but it doesn't mix well and is so sticky..???

Wilton or americolors. Don't use supermarket dyes for fondant.

Americolors are awesome because they have metallic colours.

Add coco to make it less sticky.

For anyone that hasn't done a cake before, you should look up cake 2 the rescue, they were in the paper the other week so I liked them on Facebook.
They do character cake kits, they send you everything you need to do the cake, with instructions!
They did a gruffalo cake recently! So cool!!!
